According to the plan, from December 3, the airline will operate one round trip flight per day from Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao. From December 15, 2025, the frequency of flights will increase to two round trips per day.
Vietjet returns to Con Dao route, competing with VASCO
After a temporary suspension of operations for commercial reasons a month ago, Vietjet has now officially resumed flights to Con Dao with a new generation COMAC fleet, along with more complete services and flexible pricing policies.

Currently, airfares to Con Dao remain high due to limited supply. On the Hanoi - Con Dao route, Vietjet's economy return tickets previously cost around VND8.8 million, while business class tickets cost around VND10 million.

The "thirst" for flights is especially evident during festivals or peak times at the end of the year. The People's Committee of Con Dao Special Zone has just issued a document requesting airlines to increase flights during the period from December 4 to 8, and to consider offering ticket price incentives to serve tourists attending the 240th anniversary of Lady Phi Yen's death.
In addition to Vietjet, the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route has long been mainly operated by VASCO - a member company of Vietnam Airlines - using ATR-72 aircraft, with round-trip economy fares of about 3.2 - 3.5 million VND. Flexible economy class fares are up to more than 5.6 million VND.
However, tickets are often sold out due to high demand.
Previously, Bamboo Airways used to operate a direct flight from Hanoi to Con Dao using Embraer E190 with a price of 7-8 million VND/round-trip ticket, but stopped in April 2024, forcing Northern passengers to transfer via Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho.
The reason for the continuously high ticket prices to Con Dao is assessed to originate from infrastructure limitations. Con Dao Airport currently has a runway of about 1,800m long, only accommodating small aircraft, operating during the day, from 6am to 6pm, due to the lack of night lighting system.
Limited terminal and parking space makes it difficult to increase flights or expand aircraft types.
According to aviation experts, in the context of infrastructure that cannot be improved immediately, Vietjet's resumption and increase in flight frequency is expected to help relieve some of the pressure on demand, opening up more options for passengers coming to Con Dao in the near future.
