After a 1-4 loss at Anfield, Liverpool have now lost 9 of their last 12 games. In addition, this is the third consecutive defeat for coach Arne Slot and his team by a 3-goal margin, after two 0-3 losses to Nottingham Forest and Man City in the Premier League.
Facing the pressure weighing on his shoulders, coach Arne Slot said he was feeling negative and disappointed in the post-match interview.
Speaking on TNT Sports, the Liverpool manager said: "In recent weeks, the same question has been asked every time. The feeling is very negative and disappointing.
But before that, I was optimistic about the players' reaction after we were 0-1 down because by the end of the first half, Liverpool had equalized."
"After the break, Liverpool were 1-2 down quite early. Remarkably, we had good chances to equalize 2-2, but 10-15 minutes before the end of the match, we conceded another goal. Yes, it's hard to accept," added the Dutch coach.
"It's not always easy, but that's why after we conceded the first goal, I think we saw the reaction I wanted to see. It wasn't easy because we lost so much at the weekend," said Slot.
At the end of the interview, the Liverpool captain said: "The only way is not to run away, to face what we are facing. Let's fight with all our might."
After the 5th round, Liverpool currently has only 9 points and is in 13th place in the Champions League.
