Recently, in Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh Province), the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Vietravel decided to adjust the company name from Vietnam Transport Marketing and Tourism Joint Stock Company (JSC) to the official trading name of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company.
The predecessor of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company was established on December 20, 1995 under the decision of the Ministry of Transport , under the founder Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, with the name of Transport Tourism & Marketing Company. By August 2010, Vietravel was transformed into Vietnam Transport Tourism & Marketing One Member Co., Ltd. In early 2014, Vietravel officially became Vietnam Transport Tourism & Marketing Joint Stock Company.
From a humble beginning with only 7 employees in 1995, Vietravel has become a leading travel company with a nationwide network of branches and representative offices in many countries such as the US, France, Thailand, Singapore... In addition, the company also develops strategic projects such as the establishment of Vietravel Airlines and the TripU technology platform, contributing to affirming its pioneering role in innovating tourism services.
Important milestones such as listing on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (code VTR) in 2019 have affirmed Vietravel's strong position in the tourism and travel industry.
In Nghe An and Ha Tinh areas, Vietravel's branch is called Vietravel Nghe An Tourism Company (abbreviated as Vietravel Nghe An) headquartered in Vinh City, with Ms. Cao Thi Thanh as director.
The shortened name to Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company aims to simplify the identity system, create global brand consistency and highlight the core nature of tourism services. This is part of the strategy to expand scale, enhance position in the international market and aim to be in the Top 100 leading enterprises of the Vietnamese economy.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky - Chairman of Vietravel Board of Directors, the name change is not only an improvement in form, but also a strategic step demonstrating the determination to integrate internationally and develop sustainably. The Vietravel brand will continue to maintain its commitment to bringing high-class travel experiences, while contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnam's tourism industry on the world map.
