Our Party and our people are experiencing a great loss due to the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. As if feeling the people's hearts, the heavy rains of the past few days have not been able to ease the pain of this loss.
With 80 years in this world and nearly 57 years in the Party, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has devoted himself to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation until his last breath. He has further illuminated the qualities of a true and loyal communist.
Throughout his career, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has always demonstrated his noble revolutionary ethics, integrity, and closeness to the people; he has been a pioneer in renewing thinking, proposing breakthrough policies and strategies, contributing to promoting the comprehensive renovation of the country. He has always cared about the people's lives, implemented social security policies, eliminated hunger and reduced poverty, and improved the people's material and spiritual lives. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has always promoted the role of the Party, persevered on the socialist path, and steadfastly maintained revolutionary ideals. He has always upheld the principles and standards within the Party, fiercely fought against signs of degradation, "self-evolution", and "self-transformation" within the Party; and is a shining example for the entire Party and people to follow... Under his leadership, our country has achieved many great achievements, becoming a dynamic developing country and its position in the international arena has been increasingly enhanced.
“We only live once, so we must live meaningfully, so as not to feel pain or regret for mean, cowardly, and shameless actions; what is the point of having a lot of money, you can't take it with you when you die. Honor is the most sacred and noble thing!” The speech of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Conference of Internal Affairs Agencies to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on September 15, 2021 expressed all the views and personality of the General Secretary.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always pays special attention to the ethnic people of Lao Cai province. He visited cadres, party members and people of the province three times in 2007, 2008 and 2013, from when he was Chairman of the National Assembly until he held the position of General Secretary. Each time, he took the time to go to the grassroots, talk closely and grasp the living conditions of the local people.
In particular, in August 2008, people in Tung Chin 1 village, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district suffered a terrible flash flood and landslide, leaving 19 people dead and missing, and many others injured. Immediately after arriving in Lao Cai city, comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, then Chairman of the National Assembly, visited, encouraged, and shared the pain and loss of the local people. At the same time, he praised the Party Committee, government and forces for actively participating in helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - the star of the Vietnamese nation has flown into space. But the revolutionary cause that he left behind is a priceless value, a spiritual flame that will forever light the way for the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland. The great achievements that he and the Party and the Vietnamese people have achieved will forever be a source of pride, a great source of motivation for us to continue to promote and develop the country.
