After one year of implementation, the Top 100 VnExpress Marathon program will be replaced by 3 new programs, expanding the utility for the runner community.
Starting from VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon 2023 taking place on June 11, VnExpress Marathon will stop the Top 100 program, after exactly one year of implementation.
Instead of the Top 100, the Organizing Committee applies the Elite Guest program for runners with high achievements to compete in tournaments within the system. The presence of elite runners both domestically and internationally will help VnExpress Marathon increase its attractiveness and competitiveness, thereby improving expertise.
In addition, VnExpress Marathon will apply a ranking point system applicable to all athletes. In addition, VnExpress Marathon will also be the first race to implement a membership program. All runners can register to participate and will accumulate points that can be converted into benefits. Details of these programs will be announced soon.

The VnExpress Marathon organizers hope that the new programs will increase runners' connection and experience, promote the spirit of community sports training, and at the same time improve the system by attracting more high-performance runners at home and abroad. Previously, the Top 100 program applied from the beginning of 2022 has created a buzz when it became the training goal of many athletes. Runners in the top enjoy many benefits such as free competition bibs, support for air tickets, trains, and hotel rooms.
In 2023, VnExpress Marathon will have 7 tournaments, two more than in 2022, starting with the Ho Chi Minh City night race (February), then going through Hue (April), Quy Nhon (June), Nha Trang (August), Ha Long (September), Hanoi (November) and ending with Hai Phong (December). The series of races in famous tourist cities is expected to attract 70,000 participants this year, contributing hundreds of billions of VND to local tourism revenue.

The races are also oriented to become international events, attracting many foreign runners to participate. The most recent tournament in Hue had more than 300 runners from many countries competing. The Ho Chi Minh City night race also saw Kenyan runner Ezikiel Kemboi win the 42km race, becoming the first foreign champion in the system.
