Martial artist Bac Thi Khiem won the 2024 Asian Taekwondo Gold Medal

In the final of the women's 67kg competition, boxer Bac Thi Khiem defeated boxer Song Jie (China) with a score of 2 - 1 (2 - 0; 0 - 2; 8 - 0) to win the Gold Medal .

Notably, boxer Song Jie is the reigning champion of ASIAD 19 and is currently ranked 7th in the world . In the most recent clash at ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese boxer lost to Song Jie in the semi-finals and only won the Bronze Medal. In this rematch, Bac Thi Khiem had an impressive performance when always putting her opponent in a passive position and won the overall victory after 3 rounds.

On the previous competition day, martial artists Truong Thi Kim Tuyen and Pham Ngoc Cham brought home two Bronze medals in the women's 49kg and women's 62kg categories, respectively.

In the end, the Vietnamese taekwondo team officially ended its journey at the 2024 Asian Taekwondo Championship with a total of 14 medals including: 01 Gold Medal , 01 Silver Medal and 09 Bronze Medals in the form category; 01 Gold Medal , 02 Bronze Medals in the sparring category.

This is a remarkable progress of Vietnamese taekwondo. Unfortunately, our national team this year will not have a representative to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics.
