Accordingly, the Volkswagen Touareg Elegance version is currently offered at VND 2.368 billion, while the Luxury version is priced at VND 2.768 billion - VND 331 million lower than the official listed price. Compared to the time of launch in the Vietnamese market at the end of 2022, the total incentives of Touareg are up to VND 631 million. Not only Touareg, other Volkswagen models have also been continuously offered incentives in recent times to improve purchasing power in the market. However, this is the first time that Touareg's incentives have hit rock bottom, creating a large gap compared to competitors in the same segment.
In the mid-size luxury SUV group, the Volkswagen Touareg is currently priced significantly lower than the BMW X5 (from VND 3.469 billion), Audi Q7 (from VND 3.54 billion) or Lexus RX (from VND 3.43 billion). This difference makes the Touareg a more " economical " choice for customers who want to own a European luxury car but save on budget. Many speculate that this deep discount could be a move to "clear stock" in preparation for a new upgraded version. Last year, the mid-life upgraded version of the Touareg was caught at an emissions testing center in Hanoi , sparking speculation about the possibility of an official launch in 2025. The current generation Volkswagen Touareg is positioned as a luxury SUV, with a harmonious yet striking exterior design thanks to its large grille combined with connected headlights. The IQ.Light Matrix LED lighting technology is a notable highlight, with each cluster consisting of 128 LEDs for highly adaptive lighting, usually only seen on higher-end models.
The Touareg is based on the MLB Evo platform – the premium chassis platform that the Volkswagen Group shares with the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. However, the vehicle's dimensions have been tweaked to expand the interior space, with length x width x height of 4,878 x 1,984 x 1,717 mm respectively. Inside the cabin, the Touareg impresses with a pair of digital screens: a 12.3-inch Digital Cockpit dashboard and a 15.3-inch central screen controlled by touch or gesture. A 14-speaker Dynaudio premium sound system, a gear lever design reminiscent of Audi. Electrically adjustable front seats with memory, heating, cooling and massage. A panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting with 30 color options are also notable features. The rear seats are comfortable, with sunshades and a center armrest. However, the Touareg's drawback is the lack of the ADAS active safety technology package - a nearly standard feature on many competitors today. The car is still equipped with basic features such as 10 airbags, parking assistance, and driver distraction warning.
Powering the Touareg is a 2.0L TFSI turbocharged petrol engine, producing 251 horsepower and 370 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The car has an average fuel consumption of 10.08 liters/100km according to the manufacturer.
