Specifically, at around 6am the same day, a coffee shop owner near Chau Long market discovered a fire in the market, immediately shouted and informed the Civil Defense Team of Chau Long 1 Hamlet , Vinh My Ward to find a way to put out the fire. Afterwards, the Civil Defense Team quickly put out the fire with on-site firefighting equipment , but failed, the fire spread.

The fire caused the traders at Chau Long market, Chau Doc city to suffer about 5 billion VND in damage.
