Naval Region 5 informs about the situation of sea and islands in Ca Mau province

More than 1,500 cadres, party members, key cadres of communes, towns, women's union members, war veterans, religious dignitaries, youth union members, fishermen, owners of fishing vessels at sea were informed by the reporter of Naval Region 5 about the basic contents of the position, role, and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, the reporter also informed the delegates about the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints, goals, and solutions to fight to protect the sovereignty of our seas and islands of the Party and State, and some outstanding results of Naval Region 5 in carrying out assigned political tasks.

Within the framework of the conference, delegates were also informed by the reporter of Naval Region 5 about Directive 45 of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to overcome the warning of the European Commission on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; legal regulations and forms of handling for fishing vessels violating illegal fishing in foreign waters.

Through information and propaganda activities, we have contributed to strengthening and raising awareness and responsibility among all classes of people; promoting the combined strength in the struggle, protecting sovereignty and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the seas and islands of the Fatherland; at the same time, raising awareness of owners of means and fishermen about combating illegal fishing, together with the whole country, making efforts to remove the "Yellow Card" of the European Commission (EC) for Vietnamese seafood.
