A prosperous, peaceful and rich countryside

Binh Lieu is the first mountainous, border, and ethnic minority district in the country to be recognized as meeting NTM standards in 2023. This is the driving force and premise for the locality to strive to reach the advanced NTM district goal in 2025.

By the end of 2024, Binh Lieu will have achieved 8/9 criteria and 37/38 targets according to the set of criteria for districts meeting advanced NTM standards for the 2021-2025 period; Hoanh Mo and Huc Dong communes will have achieved advanced NTM standards; Dong Tam commune will have completed the application and be considered for recognition of meeting advanced NTM standards; Dong Van commune will have achieved 16/19 criteria and 70/74 targets; Luc Hon commune will have achieved 16/19 criteria and 71/74 targets; Vo Ngai commune will have achieved 18/19 criteria and 72/74 targets for advanced NTM standards;   36/71 villages meet NTM standards .

Based on the achieved results, implementing the task of building new rural areas in 2025, the district continues to closely follow the direction of the central government and the province, effectively exploit the potential and advantages of the locality, integrate resources of the Overall Program for sustainable socio -economic development, firmly ensure national defense and security in communes, villages and hamlets of ethnic minorities in mountainous and border areas, associated with the implementation of national target programs in the district for the period 2021-2025.

The district continues to promote the combined strength, especially the role of the people as the main subject in participating in building the new rural area according to the principle of "people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people benefit". The district strives to complete the criteria and targets for building an advanced new rural district by the end of 2025; 3 communes of Hoanh Mo, Huc Dong, Dong Tam basically meet the model new rural area; 3 communes of Luc Hon, Dong Van, Vo Ngai basically meet the standards of an advanced new rural area; 25 more villages meet the standards of a new rural area.

Grandma   Le Thi   Thu Huong, Head of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development   District, said: The district is focusing on directing sectors and communes to prioritize resources to implement weak and lacking criteria on production development, income improvement, environment, quality of living environment... according to the National Criteria for Building Advanced New Rural Areas, Model for the period 2021-2025. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2025, focus on implementing environmental criteria, building green - clean - beautiful landscapes, increasing the rate of households using clean water that meets the standards prescribed by the Ministry of Health , increasing the rate of waste collection and treatment, wastewater treatment facilities, organizing waste classification at source/households, recycling organic waste; deploying smart commune and village models, promoting digital transformation. In which, choosing to build smart commune models in Huc Dong and Hoanh Mo communes.

Along with that, continue to consolidate and improve the quality of criteria and indicators to ensure sustainable development, such as: Planning, transportation, irrigation and disaster prevention, rural electricity, health, culture,education . In particular, strive to have no more poor households or near-poor households according to the province's multidimensional poverty standards; promote the implementation of the Project on restructuring agricultural, forestry and fishery production, models and projects linked to the value chain; vocational training for rural workers, job creation, contributing to realizing the goal of increasing per capita income to 100 million VND in 2025.

With the view that building a new rural area is a long-term, regular, continuous process, with a starting point but no end point, the district is gradually becoming a prosperous, peaceful, and unique countryside. The new look and new vitality of the new rural district are increasingly flourishing, contributing significantly to the development of the local socio-economy and improving people's lives.
