Surpassing Lewandowski, Yamal receives the highest salary at Barca

After much speculation, Barca's board of directors recently officially announced Lamine Yamal's new contract, making him the team's top earner.

Yamal signed a contract extension with Barca at the end of May. But since then, the club's leadership has not officially announced this contract.

The reason is because this contract will only take effect when Yamal officially becomes an adult, specifically when he celebrates his 18th birthday on July 13.

Information about Yamal's salary in recent times is therefore just speculation. Most Spanish media believe that Yamal's salary will be around 15 million euros (17 million USD), or more than 440 billion VND/year, with a term lasting until the summer of 2031.

And after the official information was announced, the football world was even more surprised with Yamal's real salary. The figure of 15 million euros is correct, but does not include bonuses.

If he plays to Barca's desired results, Yamal will receive a maximum salary of up to 20 million euros/year (23.4 million USD). The contract lasts until the summer of 2031.

Another piece of information revealed by the Spanish media is that Lewandowski's basic salary - in the final year of his contract - will be reduced from 16 million euros to 13 million euros.

This is the initial agreement between the Polish striker and Barca, since he joined the team in 2022. For the past 3 years, Lewandowski has always received the highest salary at Barca.

The peak was last season, when the total bonuses helped Lewandowski receive nearly 30 million euros.

Lewandowski's final year bonus is unknown, but in terms of basic salary, he has agreed to give up the team's highest paid position to Yamal.

Before signing this super contract, Yamal only received 1.6 million euros in salary last season at Barca. That is understandable because he is not yet 18 years old.

In addition to the astronomical salary, Barca also set a contract release fee of 1 billion euros for Yamal.
