Dat's story deeply moved the members of the "Aspiration for Life" program. He had a simple and warm beginning to his life. In 2021, he got married and welcomed his first daughter. However, disagreements in their lives led to the breakdown of his marriage at the end of 2024. He chose to raise his 3-year-old daughter, even knowing that he would face countless difficulties ahead.
Before the grief could subside, six months ago, Dat's mother was involved in a traffic accident, resulting in quadriplegia, and she remains in a coma. Last August, his father passed away due to complications from liver disease. After his father's funeral, Dat's younger brother, Phan Van Tien (21 years old), had to defer his second year of university to take his brother's place at the hospital to care for their mother.
His youngest sister, Phan Thi Nhu Y (5 years old), is still in preschool, and Dat also takes care of her. With his unstable seasonal labor wages, he can't afford his mother's treatment costs of up to 40 million VND per month. Furthermore, his small house, which is only 2 meters wide, is slated for demolition, making it unsaleable and impossible to mortgage.

Amidst seemingly hopeless days, the "Aspiration for Life" program reached out, bringing with it many compassionate hearts and helping hands, providing a total of 280 million VND in support to Mr. Dat's family. After consultation with the family and local authorities, the program organizers devised a practical and transparent plan for using the support money: 150 million VND will be used to pay off the debt at the company where Mr. Dat works; 30 million VND will be used to pay bank interest and cover daily living expenses; and 100 million VND will be deposited into a savings account as a reserve for long-term medical treatment for his mother.
"Thank you to the 'Aspiration for Life' program, and thank you to all the benefactors who have given my children and me another chance to live. Thanks to everyone, my daughter and my siblings will continue to go to school. In the past few days, I've felt like I couldn't hold on any longer, but today, thanks to everyone, I feel I'm no longer alone," Mr. Dat shared emotionally.

A helping hand extended at the right time, a timely act of sharing, will become a warm flame, warming the lives of those facing hardship, giving them a chance to revive and rise above their circumstances. The 17th year of the "Aspiration for Life" journey will continuously connect compassionate hearts, so that warmth and hope spread throughout the community.
