The Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team is at a disadvantage with only 11 players left. Coach Nguyen Trong Linh is forced to make do with not many options.

In that situation, as well as psychological influence, the Vietnamese girls still maintained their determination. The first two sets showed their professional and enthusiastic attitude.

Specifically in set 1, the U21 Vietnam women's volleyball team with reasonable tactics created a 25-16 victory. In set 2, they played erratically when Egypt led 7-1.

But then, with perseverance and good blocking ability of the attackers, U21 Vietnam successfully tied the score 11-11.

By the end of the set, the challenge once again appeared when Egypt led 24-21 and had 3 set-points. But then the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team rose up, scoring a series of 5 points to win 26-24.

Having one less player and having to fight in set 2 made the Vietnamese athletes somewhat "weak" in set 3. They made many mistakes and lost points. Egypt recovered this set with a score of 25-22.

But in set 4, they woke up again to win 25-20, thereby ending the match with a score of 3-1.

In this match, the U21 Vietnam players had an effective working day. In which, the main player Bui Thi Anh Thao scored 21 points. Meanwhile, the middle player Le Thuy Linh also had 18 points.

Pham Quynh Huong, despite having to take care of the first defense, still contributed 16 points. And middle blocker Phuong Quynh scored 11 points.

After 2 days of intense competition against Puerto Rico and Egypt, along with the penalty from FIVB, the spirit and physical strength of U21 Vietnam has been greatly affected. Fortunately, the U21 Women's Volleyball World Cup will be suspended on August 14. And that is an opportunity for coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team to recover.

On August 15, they returned to compete in the 17th-20th place match, with the opponent being the winner of the Chile - Mexico match.
