Vaccination against monkeypox in Africa
According to AFP, the WHO declared a state of emergency on August 14 to deal with the surge in cases of the new Clade 1b monkeypox strain in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is spreading to neighboring countries. This year, new monkeypox strains and others have been recorded in 80 countries, including 19 in Africa.
