The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has just announced the referee team that will officiate the match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Netherlands women's team in Group E of the 2023 Women's World Cup.
Specifically, Croatian referee Ivana Martincic will officiate the match at Forsyth Barr Stadium at 2:00 p.m. on August 1 (Vietnam time). Assisting Ms. Martincic are referees Sanja Rodak-Karšić (Croatia) and Karolin Kaivoja (Estonia).
Ms. Ivana Martincic was born in 1985 and has been a FIFA referee since 2014. This female referee participated in the 2022 EURO women's tournament. In September 2021, she made history in Croatian football as the first female referee to officiate a match in the First League Football, the highest level of Croatian football.

Regarding the match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Netherlands women's team, this is the final performance in Group E of Huynh Nhu and her teammates, concluding the 2023 Women's World Cup journey of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team.
In the previous two matches, the Vietnamese women's team lost 0-3 to the US and 0-2 to Portugal. However, experts and international public opinion still highly appreciated some bright spots of the Vietnamese women's team, especially goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh. She successfully blocked the penalty kick of legendary striker Alex Morgan of the defending champion US and had an impressive performance with many excellent saves in the match against the Portuguese women's team.
