Hoai Duc commune opens free swimming classes for underprivileged children.

Every summer, along with the joy of rest and fun after a stressful school year, the risk of accidents and injuries, especially drowning, among children also increases.

Recognizing this, during the 2026 Children's Action Month, Hoai Duc commune implemented many practical activities to improve children's drowning prevention skills, creating a safe and healthy summer environment for young people in the area.

One of the notable activities is the Hoai Duc Commune General Service Center organizing a training course for swimming instructors, rescuers, and drowning prevention skills for children in 2026, starting from the end of May.

According to Nguyen Khanh Manh, Director of the Hoai Duc Commune General Services Center, child drowning remains a worrying issue, especially during the summer holidays when students' need for recreation, swimming, and participation in water activities increases. Therefore, equipping physical education teachers and school health staff with knowledge and skills in safe swimming, rescue, and first aid is extremely important.

Beyond professional training, the Hoai Duc Commune General Service Center also implements many meaningful activities to spread the message "Learn to swim to prevent drowning." Among these, free swimming lessons for underprivileged children have received a positive response from parents and students.

Through these classes, children learn basic swimming skills, are guided on how to handle dangerous situations in the water, escape skills, and knowledge to prevent drowning accidents, helping them to be more confident when participating in water activities.

In particular, organizing free classes for disadvantaged children demonstrates the concern of local Party committees and authorities for the care and protection of children, especially during the summer and the 2026 Children's Action Month.

Besides teaching swimming, Hoai Duc commune also organizes a summer children's swimming competition with many exciting and attractive events, creating opportunities for children to interact, learn, improve their physical fitness, develop courage, self-confidence, and team spirit.

According to Nguyen Khanh Manh, Director of the Hoai Duc Commune General Service Center, the prevention and control of child drowning in the commune has been implemented comprehensively with many solutions. In particular, since the end of May 2026, the Hoai Duc Commune General Service Center has opened its swimming pool to serve the people and youth in the area. In the future, the center will continue to organize swimming, diving, and rescue training courses; maintain free swimming lessons; organize the 2026 Summer Swimming Competition for students, along with many other sports and life skills activities for children.
