On the morning of December 18, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee worked with the Party Committee of Khanh Thuong commune (Khanh Vinh district) on the implementation of tasks in 2023 and the direction of tasks in 2024. Also attending the meeting were leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors and leaders of the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Khanh Vinh district.

Reporting at the meeting, the leader of Khanh Thuong commune said that in 2023, the work of building the Party, government, front and mass organizations of the commune achieved quite good results; the economy developed stably, and security and order were maintained. The commune leader proposed that the province support funding to: upgrade and renovate the commune cemetery; commune sports center and cultural center; upgrade and repair toilets for students at Suoi Cat school; build a water reservoir to serve agricultural production, etc.

Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh assessed that in 2023, Khanh Thuong Commune Party Committee has comprehensively implemented tasks on Party building as well as socio-economic development, in which the commune has exceeded the targets on budget revenue, poverty reduction rate, etc. However, up to now, the commune has only achieved 12/17 targets on new rural construction. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh suggested that in the coming time, Khanh Thuong Commune must review the new rural targets that have been achieved (to see if they are up to standard); strive to achieve 17/19 targets by 2025, bringing the commune out of the category of special difficulties; in which the commune focuses on achieving criteria such as residential housing, production organization and rural economic development, environment and food safety in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh requested the commune to review and re-evaluate the sustainable poverty reduction rate to correctly assess the situation, thereby finding solutions to help people escape poverty; to find suitable economic models to ensure stable livelihoods for the people; to review unemployed workers to coordinate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to find jobs for the people... In addition, the commune should increase propaganda so that people do not sell land en masse, leading to a lack of means of production later; to propagate so that people are aware of finding jobs and having a stable income; to propagate and mobilize people to participate in forest protection, and for students who have dropped out of school to return to school...
Regarding the commune's recommendations, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hai Ninh agreed on the policy of supporting the commune to build a cultural and sports center, but it must be combined into one project, and assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to survey and clarify the proposal to build a reservoir to serve agricultural production. If this project is found to be effective, it will be reported to the Provincial People's Committee to make an investment proposal...
According to the report of the Khanh Thuong Commune Party Committee, in 2023, the commune collected more than 8.55 billion VND in budget, exceeding 25.1% of the plan; planted 821 hectares, exceeding 17% of the plan; of which 669 hectares were annual crops, exceeding nearly 21% of the plan. The commune's total livestock herd was 780, exceeding 17% of the plan. During the year, with the support of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and enterprises, the commune built 20 new houses for poor households. To date, the commune has 585 households with 2,776 people; of which 199 are poor households, accounting for 33% of the commune's households, and 136 are near-poor households, accounting for 25%.
