Long Hung commune meets advanced new rural commune standards

STO - On the morning of March 19, in Long Hung commune, My Tu district (Soc Trang), My Tu district People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman recognizing Long Hung commune as meeting the standards of an advanced new rural commune. Attending were comrades: Vuong Quoc Nam - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Truong Van Dung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment; Le Thanh Vi - Standing Deputy Secretary of My Tu District Party Committee; Nguyen Viet Phu - Chairman of My Tu District People's Committee; leaders of My Tu district's professional departments and offices.

Long Hung is a purely agricultural commune, recognized as a commune meeting new rural standards in 2014. Continuing the journey, the commune embarked on building an advanced new rural commune, achieving positive results. Agricultural production continued to develop, many effective rural economic development models in the direction of integrating multi-values were maintained and replicated, in which, the most prominent were organic rice production models, the MD2 pineapple growing model was granted a certificate of growing area code. Developing agricultural production has contributed to improving the lives and incomes of people in the commune, with the average income per capita of the commune reaching over 72 million VND/person/year. In addition, the commune no longer has temporary or dilapidated houses, the rate of solid and semi-solid houses reached over 93%; the rate of poor and near-poor households in the commune is 1.27%.

Comrade Vuong Quoc Nam praised the achievements of Long Hung commune in building a commune that meets advanced new rural standards. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Long Hung commune to continuously enhance the role and responsibility of the Party Committee, government and the entire political system of districts and communes, especially the role of the leaders in propaganda and mobilization work to help each person have a deeper awareness of the importance of new rural construction. Strengthen direction and effectively implement 6 specialized programs to promote the potential and advantages of the locality in new rural construction. Mobilize and integrate capital from other programs and projects implemented in the area according to the principle of prioritizing mobilization and maximizing direct resources in the locality, support capital sources from agencies, organizations, mobilized resources from the community and individuals to strive to complete the targets and objectives in new rural construction. Review, maintain and improve the quality of achieved criteria, especially for achieved criteria that are unstable and easily changed...

On this occasion, 2 groups and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their excellent performance in building Long Hung commune to meet the standards of an advanced new rural commune. 5 groups and 15 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tu district for their contributions to building Long Hung commune to meet the standards of an advanced new rural commune. The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province presented the People's Committee of Long Hung commune with 100 million VND; the Bank for Social Policies, Soc Trang province branch presented 30 gifts to policy families; organizations and benefactors presented many gifts to the People's Committee, people, and students in Long Hung commune.
