Ly Bon Commune proactively responds to storm No. 11 - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Due to the impact of storm No. 11 from the night of October 5 to the morning of October 7, Ly Bon commune experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing serious damage. A series of inter-hamlet roads were eroded, cutting off traffic; many areas of crops and people's production land were buried; a number of houses and civil works were severely damaged, greatly affecting the lives and activities of the people.

Leaders of Ly Bon commune inspected the actual situation of areas affected by storms and floods.

Immediately after the damage occurred, comrade Nong Van Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ly Bon commune, was present at the scene to inspect the situation, grasp the extent of the impact and direct the local forces to urgently support people to overcome the consequences, ensure the safety of life and property, and soon stabilize their lives.

On the same day, the leaders of Ly Bon Commune People's Committee coordinated with the leaders of Bao Lam Hydropower Plant Cluster to inspect the actual flood situation in the downstream area and on the dam line to proactively take response measures, ensuring the safety of the dam and residential areas. Through the inspection, the delegation surveyed the current landslide status, assessed the risk of landslide recurrence at key points and requested the reservoir operator to closely monitor the water level, regulate flood discharge appropriately, and coordinate with local authorities to promptly warn and inform people in the downstream area.

Currently, the commune is still experiencing heavy rain, with a high risk of further landslides and flooding. The commune authorities have requested the authorities to increase inspections, be on duty 24/7 at key locations, and prepare evacuation plans when necessary, while stepping up propaganda so that people can proactively prevent and protect their lives and property from the complicated developments of floods caused by storm No. 11.
