Tien Thang Commune supports people to overcome the consequences of floods

On the afternoon of October 11, leaders of Tien Thang commune went to the flooded area and brought necessities to support people; at the same time, directed the handling of drainage and environmental sanitation issues after flooding.

According to the report of Tien Thang Commune People's Committee, as of 5:00 p.m. on October 11, the rising water level of Ca Lo River has flooded part of the villages: Ngu Tien, Thong Thuong, Ben Gia, Phu Huu, Ngoc Tri, Duc Hau, Duong 23... The total number of flooded households is 750, 3,368 people; the number of households evacuated to relatives' houses is 224, 799 people.

Chairman of Tien Thang Commune People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hai said that the commune has mobilized more than 250 militia, police, officials, and people with 50 trucks and small boats; added 100m3 of soil and sand to build embankments at Tam Bao Pumping Station and National Highway 23B canal, supported people in moving their belongings, barricaded, and guided people through deep flooded areas to ensure safety.

Up to now, the commune has mobilized 690 forces, 190 types of vehicles and more than 620 materials and tools of all kinds; 3,000 sacks, 100m3 of sand and soil to reinforce the embankment to prevent water from overflowing.

Directly inspecting and encouraging the people, Secretary of the Tien Thang Commune Party Committee Hoang Anh Tuan directed departments and units to focus on stabilizing people's lives in the villages: Ngu Tien, Thong Thuong, Ben Gia, Phu Huu, Ngoc Tri, Duc Hau, and Duong 23. The forces continued to maintain and direct 22 teams to prevent and fight natural disasters, search and rescue in 22 villages (total of 223 people) ready to handle situations caused by rain, storms, flooding, fallen trees and support people in harvesting flooded and fallen rice due to storms; cleaning up the environment, ensuring traffic safety, communication, and uninterrupted power grid systems...

"Parties should pay special attention to cleaning up and disinfecting the environment as soon as the water recedes, ensuring epidemic safety and quickly stabilizing people's lives," emphasized Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Tien Thang Commune Party Committee.
