This year's UEFA Champions League Round of 16 was exciting and dramatic but without too many surprises. The two key matches Bayern Munich - Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid - Liverpool ended with victory belonging to the more experienced team.

Bayern Munich continued to prove their class on the continental stage by beating the Paris club in both matches. Defending champions Real Madrid also convincingly defeated Liverpool with a total score of 6-2.
Paris Saint Germain's defeat meant the French representative was absent from this year's quarter-finals. Liverpool and Tottenham were the two English representatives who stopped in the round of 16.
Despite Liverpool's elimination, English football still has two representatives in the quarter-finals, after victories over the German representatives. Chelsea came from behind to beat Dortmund, while Man City convincingly beat RB Leipzig.
Portugal have only one representative in the quarter-finals: Benfica, after two overwhelming wins against Club Brugge. Spain and Germany have only one team in the quarter-finals, but both are strong candidates for the championship: Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Italian football dominated the quarter-finals with three representatives: Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan. While the two Milan clubs struggled to overcome Tottenham and Porto, Napoli completely dominated the German team Frankfurt.
The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League will take place at 18:00 (Vietnam time) on March 17 at the headquarters of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in Nyon, Switzerland.
