Also attending the seminar were representatives of a number of central ministries, branches, experts and managers in the cultural field.
Speaking at the seminar, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that after receiving the Politburo 's policy and assigning tasks, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism determined that this was a particularly important task and must urgently coordinate with relevant agencies to develop an outline and draft Resolution.
The Deputy Minister stated that, entering a new era, the domestic context and international fluctuations have posed requirements for the development of a new Resolution to create space and unleash resources for cultural development. The Resolution, when issued, will demonstrate the Party's special concern for the cause of developing Vietnamese culture.
The Deputy Minister said that in order to draft the Resolution, members of the Drafting Committee and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism focused on studying the entire system of Party documents, Resolutions, along with the Outline on Vietnamese culture in 1943.
“During the research process, the members of the Drafting Committee realized that there are many viewpoints and tasks that must be inherited in the new Resolution. However, with some tasks that cannot be implemented, it is necessary to promptly research and find bottlenecks to have appropriate solutions,” Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh stated.
Also according to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, in recent times, although awareness of the importance of investing in and developing culture has been raised, it has not yet met expectations.
Along with that, the story of building a cultural environment; developing cultural industry; integrating internationally in culture but still firmly maintaining national cultural identity, selectively absorbing the quintessence of human culture... although having achieved many achievements, there still exist some shortcomings arising from practice.
The issue of unleashing resources for culture to develop, even flourish, is also receiving special attention from the Party and State and must be specified through this Resolution.
Therefore, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh hopes that the opinions at the discussion will demonstrate the enthusiasm and concern for the country's cultural development. The goal is to complete the draft Resolution according to the set schedule and quality.
The contents and solutions stated in the draft must be correct and accurate, removing bottlenecks in cultural development; focusing on breakthrough solutions, creating space for cultural development.
At the seminar, delegates all affirmed that the drafting of the Politburo Resolution on the Revival and Development of Vietnamese Culture in the New Era has strategic significance, aiming to affirm the key role of culture in the cause of sustainable development of the country. The promulgated Resolution will contribute to determining the direction, long-term vision, strategy, and creating a breakthrough for cultural development.
Along with that, the delegates focused on contributing opinions on the key contents of the draft Resolution, approaches to the problem, and analysis of the context. At the same time, many solutions were proposed to raise awareness of the role and position of culture in national construction and development; remove bottlenecks in institutions and resources; breakthrough solutions in governance and investment in culture, etc.
Appreciating the comments at the discussion, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh requested the members of the Drafting Committee to study and absorb the comments.
The Deputy Minister assessed that these are all heartfelt opinions and for the cause of developing national culture in the new era. The Deputy Minister also hoped that the delegates and experts at the discussion would continue to accompany the Drafting Committee in the process of building and perfecting the draft Resolution in the coming time.
