Building the Vietnamese community in Mongolia to become increasingly united and strong

Continuing his State visit to Mongolia, on the morning of October 1 (local time), General Secretary andPresident To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy, met and had a friendly talk with officials, staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia.

At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Nguyen Tuan Thanh reported to the General Secretary and President on the results of the Embassy's work, the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Mongolia, and the work with the Vietnamese community in Mongolia. The Ambassador said that the Vietnamese community in Mongolia currently has about 900 people; there are 2 associations: the Vietnamese Association in Mongolia and the Vietnamese Business Association in Mongolia. In recent times, associations in Mongolia have actively participated in activities organized and guided by the Embassy; carried out many practical and effective activities towards the homeland and the country. Recently, the community and the Embassy's staff have raised 241 million VND to support localities in the country affected by storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).

Representing the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan, Member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia, sincerely thanked the sentiments and attention of the Party and State leaders, the support and companionship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Vietnam in Mongolia for the community. Mr. Tuan affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Mongolia always looks towards the homeland and wishes to contribute their strength and intelligence to the development of the country, while continuing to carry out practical activities, contributing to fostering the friendly relations between the two countries to a new height.

Representing the young generation of overseas Vietnamese living in Mongolia, Nguyen Thi Doan Trang, a second-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, National University of Mongolia, said that the development of Vietnam-Mongolia relations has opened up many opportunities for students from both countries to exchange and study. However, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Mongolia is currently limited, expressing her hope that more young Vietnamese people will know about and take full advantage of the educational conditions that the Mongolian Government offers to Vietnam.

Talking to the staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam said that this visit to Mongolia is of great significance, taking place when the relationship between the two countries is at its best stage of development; mutual understanding and trust between the people of the two countries is increasingly deepening; cooperation in many fields such as politics, defense, security, economy and tourism is increasingly expanding and has achieved some substantial results in recent times. During the talks with the Mongolian side, the General Secretary and President asked Mongolia to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, work and actively and responsibly integrate into the host society.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community, including the Vietnamese community in Mongolia, as an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc. The Party and State always support and care for them to stabilize their lives and integrate into the local society, while encouraging and creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to turn to their homeland and country.

General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed and appreciated the efforts of the community. Although not as large as in some other countries, the community works hard, does business, and complies with local laws. The General Secretary and President emphasized that each Vietnamese person in Mongolia is an ambassador, contributing to helping the Mongolian people better understand the country and people of Vietnam.

The General Secretary and President hoped that the Vietnamese community in Mongolia would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, help each other to develop together; strive to rise up, actively integrate, comply with the law and contribute to the development of the host country; at the same time, always turn towards the homeland, proactively make practical and effective contributions to the cause of national construction and development; and be a bridge for the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

The General Secretary and President requested the Embassy to continue to do well in community work and citizen protection in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 36-NQ/TW, Directive 45-CT/TW and Conclusion 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on work for overseas Vietnamese in the context of the growing Vietnamese community in Mongolia.

Receiving the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam, Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh, on behalf of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia and the people, promised to actively implement the direction of the General Secretary and President, making positive contributions to the Vietnam - Mongolia relationship and building the Vietnamese community in Mongolia to be increasingly united, strong, and oriented towards the homeland./.
