Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan expressed his wishes at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Quy Nhon University, GEO Group (Federal Republic of Germany) and O-DOOR Vietnam Co., Ltd. on the construction and operation of the Center for training and development of renewable energy human resources in Gia Lai province, recently held at Quy Nhon University.

The objective of the Agreement is to establish a cooperation framework between Quy Nhon University, GEO Group and O-Door Vietnam Company to jointly build and operate a Renewable Energy Training and Human Resource Development Center in Gia Lai Province. The Center will provide internationally recognized training programs in wind power, solar energy and green hydrogen, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce and supporting Vietnam’s national commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
The project will be implemented in August 2025
According to the signed memorandum of understanding, regarding the training and human resource development program, GEO Group is responsible for developing and transferring training programs according to international standards, providing technical training equipment, and implementing technical support, including maintenance services during the agreed operation period. O-Door Vietnam Co., Ltd. is responsible for building facilities, installing equipment, operating the training center, ensuring quality... Quy Nhon University is responsible for recruiting and selecting students, nominating candidates to participate in "Training of Lecturers" programs, coordinating the organization of training assessments, and supporting GEO in implementing and recognizing the certification process.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said: "The Renewable Energy Human Resources Training and Development Center project is identified as a key project of the province. Currently, the province is urgently carrying out the bidding process to select an investor to implement the project, expected to be completed in August 2025."

Provincial Chairman Pham Anh Tuan pledged to accompany and support the project to be implemented soon and operate effectively; at the same time, he hoped that all parties would make efforts and work towards the goal of: Building Gia Lai into a modern center, training and developing highly qualified human resources in the field of renewable energy and green hydrogen technology, meeting international standards; Gia Lai province is a locality that receives new technologies related to renewable energy.
In order for the signed contents to be effectively implemented, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested Quy Nhon University to quickly, promptly and substantially implement the contents of the memorandum of understanding, with the spirit of "only discussing, not retreating", with a strong desire to master technology, promptly access and grasp the transferred modern technologies, determined to become the leading training address in the country and the region in the field of renewable energy. Along with that, GEO Group and O-Door Vietnam Company strictly implement the signed commitments, especially focusing on accelerating the progress of project implementation.
Previously, at a working session with the leaders of Binh Dinh province (now Gia Lai), GEO Group (Federal Republic of Germany) proposed to invest in the Renewable Energy Human Resources Training and Development Center Project with a scale of about 20 hectares, located in My An and My Thang communes (Phu My district), with a total expected investment capital of up to 50 million USD.
Developing high quality human resources
At the meeting with partners on the afternoon of June 18, Principal of Quy Nhon University Doan Duc Tung said that the school is training in fields suitable for the development orientation of renewable energy such as: Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering and Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications, Technical Physics (nanotechnology), Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics. In particular, the school's Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics is one of the three strong Mathematics centers in the country, affirming QNU's solid academic position in the Vietnamese universityeducation system.
“The school is ready to accompany the group in the project implementation process, and at the same time expresses its desire to expand cooperation with partners in Germany and Europe, creating more learning and research opportunities for students and lecturers...” said Mr. Tung.

Mr. Franz Josef Claes - Chairman of GEO Group expressed his confidence in the potential for renewable energy development in Vietnam, especially in Binh Dinh province. He said that GEO will transfer technology related to wind power, solar power and green hydrogen, with the expectation that the Renewable Energy Human Resources Training and Development Center will not only train human resources for Vietnam but also become a prestigious address in the Southeast Asia region.

GEO Group has also established a cooperative network with many universities in Germany and the European Union (EU), ready to act as a bridge for Quy Nhon University to access international training and research programs. Mr. Seyedin expressed his hope that the two sides will soon implement specific cooperation activities, contributing to promoting the development of high-quality human resources in the field of clean energy in Vietnam.
