Building a business network between Vietnam

Following the success of the CICON Hanoi 2022 forum with the theme "Vietnam Smart City Prospects and Korea - Vietnam Economic Cooperation", the CICON HCMC 2023 forum with the theme "'Smart City' containing Converging Industrial Cultural Urban Area" was held on June 7 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The forum is co-organized by Korea CEO Summit, Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association and Imex Pan Pacific Group, under the supervision of CICON Organizing Committee and the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Technology , Consulate General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, Korea Institute for the Promotion of Intellectual Information Society and the Embassy of Vietnam in Korea.

Attending the forum were Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai; Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications Lam Dinh Thang; Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association Nguyen Ngoc Hoa.

Speaking at the Forum, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai affirmed that this is an important and meaningful event for leaders, experts, and businesses from Korea and Vietnam to share experiences and ideas on building smart cities and cultural values, converging in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Chairman of the City People's Committee, with the increasing speed of economic development and population, cities around the world are facing major challenges in terms of safety, traffic, environment and sustainable development. In this challenging picture, smart urban technology can be the solution to many problems through advanced technology applications and creative solutions.

Chairman Phan Van Mai said that with its favorable geographical location, large population and rapid economic growth, the city has full potential to develop into a smart and sustainable city. However, to turn the potential into reality, it is necessary to have the companionship and support of international friends, and to cooperate in different fields to create appropriate and effective solutions. Therefore, Korea is certainly one of the important partners of the city.

Chairman Phan Van Mai also said that with the goal of building a smart, modern city with civilized and friendly people, Ho Chi Minh City will choose Thu Duc City to implement initial solutions, thereby evaluating and drawing lessons for replication. From this Forum, Ho Chi Minh City authorities will listen to and share the successes and experiences of Korea, thereby creating conditions for businesses from both sides to meet and discuss mutually beneficial cooperation programs in the future.

The CICON HCMC 2023 Forum takes place with the aim of building a model of creative industry development “Urban - Cultural - Convergence”. The event helps the two countries expand opportunities to participate in the smart urban and blockchain industry, while building a business network between Vietnam and Korea and providing online investment and business opportunities. This will be a special opportunity to listen to different opinions from government leaders, politicians who have worked in the legislative and administrative agencies, entrepreneurs in the urban, cultural and industrial convergence fields, scholars, IT enterprises and financial circles on the development prospects of the city, culture, and industrial convergence of Korea and Vietnam after COVID-19.

CICON HCMC 2023 Forum includes 12 discussion sessions on development directions and strategies for Urban, Cultural and Industrial areas.

Within the framework of CICON 2023, Korea CEO Summit (KCS) will organize the side event “Blockchain Web 3.0 MARVELS Ho Chi Minh 2023” (WBSM2023) with the theme ‘Web 3.0 contains cities, culture and convergence’ at Sheraton Saigon Hotel on June 8, 2023 with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) and Digital Transformation System (DTS).
