Thousands of young people and people of all ages came to visit, experience and shop at the program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City". The program took place from   August 23 to 25, helping city residents better understand the history and culture of ancient Thang Long and present-day Hanoi.

Re-enacting Quan Chuong Gate, Hang Quat Street, Hang Khoai Street... in Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City

Young people are especially interested in the stalls simulating the space of Hanoi streets, with the entrance recreating Quan Chuong Gate, flanked by Hang Quat, Hang Khoai, Hang Chieu streets... Along both sides are stalls that exude the ancient beauty of the capital.

In front of each booth, visitors can scan the QR code to read information about the craft village, as well as information about the representative artisan.

Many young people stopped by the stalls of traditional weaving villages Phung Xa, embroidery Thuong Tin, bamboo and rattan weaving Phu Vinh, ceramic village Bat Trang, conical hats of Chuong village, and stalls of clay figurines, handicrafts, etc.

At the booth of Phung Xa craft village, excellent artisan Phan Thi Thuan (70 years old) sat spinning thread, explaining the origin of expensive lotus silk. "Seeing people learning, young people asking about weaving, I am very happy to talk about the traditional profession of my family and my village," Ms. Thuan shared.

This place attracts people with its delicate embroidered scarves of lotus flowers, turtle towers, etc., and beautiful silk and brocade fabrics. Ms. Le Ngoc Han (24 years old, living in District 3) went with her mother, having just bought a few meters of brocade fabric to make an ao dai.

Ms. Han said her family really likes ao dai, so she took advantage of this program to buy and have one made, priced from 500,000 VND/meter.

At Thuong Tin embroidery stall, young people choose to buy handmade embroidered products such as mirrors, hairpins, paintings... for about 150,000 VND/product.

The booths selling horn combs, jewelry, and decorative items such as small crane statues, owls, teacups, etc. from Thuy Ung craft village are also diverse. Combs come in many sizes, priced from 30,000 VND, and massage tools cost from several hundred thousand VND.

At the Vietnamese to he booth, artisan Dang Van Hau enthusiastically explained visitors' questions about the designs of fruit trays, lanterns, miniature statues, etc.

In particular, he also created elaborate models of boats carrying cotton, fruits, and the Southern floating market, which delighted many visitors. The fruit tray costs from 50,000 VND depending on the size.

At the Bat Trang ceramic booth, young mothers brought their children to experience pottery making.

Leaving the craft village space, young people can visit the food court with a variety of dishes and drinks, such as cốm sausage, bun dau, banh duc, taro juice, apricot juice, etc. There is an area with tables and chairs for eating and drinking, so it is quite convenient.

"Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" is one of the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), aiming to promote and introduce the cultural characteristics and typical cultural heritage of the thousand-year-old capital Hanoi.

Some activities:

August 23 to October 31: Display, exhibition, introduction of the quintessence of Vietnamese Confucianism, at Nguyen Thai Son Primary School (Ward 8, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).

August 23 to 25: Product promotion program, combined with tourism promotion linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Evening of August 24: Young Melody Art Exchange at Nguyen Hue Walking Street with the participation of singers from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Morning of August 24: Martial arts and gymnastics performance, friendly basketball competition for men and women U23 at Nguyen Du Gymnasium, Ho Chi Minh City.

Evening of August 25: Closing ceremony at Nguyen Hue walking street.
