Review of the list of priority projects in Van Phong Economic Zone

On the morning of October 14, comrade Nguyen Khac Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to the leaders of the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board report and propose a list of priority projects to attract investment in Van Phong Economic Zone for the period up to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Also attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Huyen - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board presented the Provincial People's Committee with a list of 9 priority projects to attract investment in Van Phong Economic Zone, focusing on 4 groups of fields: Urban - service - tourism; industry and clean energy; seaport - logistics, port logistics; investment in infrastructure of duty-free zones. In addition, the management board also proposed adding 14 new projects to update and complete the list of investment attraction for the period 2025 - 2030 in the direction of developing Van Phong Economic Zone into a dynamic economic center of the province and the South Central region. Of which, the innovation, research and development, high technology group has 1 project; the urban - tourism - service group has 10 projects, the environmental technical infrastructure group has 3 projects. For other investment calling projects in the subdivisions of Van Phong Economic Zone, the management board will continue to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval after the subdivision planning is approved.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Khac Toan highly appreciated the initiative of the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board in reviewing and updating the list of projects in accordance with the approved planning. He basically agreed with the proposal of the Provincial Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board; at the same time, he requested the management board to closely coordinate with relevant departments and branches to review the resettlement land fund to arrange for projects, paying special attention to densely populated areas, needing to arrange suitable resettlement, ensuring better or equal to the old place of residence. In addition, there should be a suitable waste treatment plan for projects to prioritize investment attraction. He assigned relevant departments and branches to coordinate in completing the dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for official approval, as a basis to promote investment in the coming time.
