(HG) - On the afternoon of January 10, the Provincial People's Court held a conference to deploy court work in 2024. Attending the conference were Mr. Pham Quoc Hung, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Vo Thi My Trang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

According to the report, in 2023, the number of cases handled and resolved by the Hau Giang two-level People's Court increased compared to 2022 (an increase of 1,196 cases), the nature of the cases was complicated and diverse, and the level of criminal cases became increasingly serious.
However, with efforts and determination, the two-level People's Court of Hau Giang has successfully completed the task of trial, ensuring the right person, right crime, right law; well serving the requirements and political tasks in the locality.
Specifically, during the year, the two-level People's Courts accepted 7,073 cases of all kinds, resolving 6,624 cases (reaching a rate of 93.65%). Of which, the rate of criminal cases resolved was 99.35%, civil cases reached 92.93%, administrative cases reached 92%... Many particularly serious and complicated criminal cases of public concern were brought to trial promptly and strictly. The settlement and trial of civil, commercial, labor and administrative cases ensured compliance with the law, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the State, organizations and citizens; the rate of conciliation of civil, commercial and administrative cases reached 65.78%.
In addition, the two-level People's Courts also successfully coordinated to organize 114 experience-sharing sessions in the spirit of judicial reform, 73 online trials; effectively publicized judgments on the electronic information portal of the court system; and focused on citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement...
In 2024, Hau Giang People's Court at two levels set out 13 key tasks and implementation solutions. In particular, the goal is to speed up the progress and improve the quality of handling and adjudicating all types of cases; ensuring that 100% of cases are resolved within the time limit prescribed by law. Particularly, handling and adjudicating criminal cases will reach 90%, civil cases will reach 85%, and administrative cases will reach 65%...
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, highly appreciated the efforts of the two-level court in Hau Giang over the past year. In the coming time, he requested the court sector to continue to perform well its functions and tasks of protecting justice, protecting human rights and citizens' rights. The two-level People's Court needs to continue to improve the quality and speed up the progress of handling and adjudicating, ensuring strictness, correct people, correct crimes, and correct laws, not allowing injustice or letting criminals escape.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also requested that the two-level People's Courts need to do a good job of mediation; propagating and disseminating laws to prevent and combat violations and crimes; and promoting digital transformation into administrative processes and procedures to support trial activities.
