After 3 days of organization (December 8-10) at the Central Post Office of Ho Chi Minh City, the entertainment and cultural connection event Saigon Urban Street Fest (organized by artLIVE in collaboration with the Goethe Institute in Ho Chi Minh City) has just ended with extremely exciting final activities.

Tonight, the final evening of the event, attendees enjoyed a series of exciting performances from teams and individuals. Below, let’s take a look at the faces, teams and their street-inspired works at the first season of Saigon Urban Street Fest.

On the morning of December 10, artist Thao Xeko completed two paintings Saigon Faithful and Saigon Fresh and sketched the Saigon Fun right in the drawing area in front of the Ho Chi Minh City Central Post Office (next to Ho Chi Minh City Book Street). She is a young female freelance illustrator practicing art in Ho Chi Minh City. Saigon Faithful , Saigon Fresh and Saigon Fun are three works with different themes, expressing the beauty and "dustiness" of a contemporary Saigon.

As shared at the beginning of the program's press conference, the modern dance and circus group The Funky Monkeys, from Berlin (Germany) brought to Saigon Urban Street Fest a modern dance performance combined with circus called Saigon Oh, lasting more than 20 minutes.

The special thing about the performance Saigon oi is that it is a combination of art forms such as street dance, hip hop and circus. With the humor, enthusiasm and passion of the artists, the audience experienced many emotions from excitement, nervousness to laughter and emotion. The group also invited the audience to perform. In addition, The Funky Monkeys also surprised by inserting the call “Grilled chicken eggs, balut eggs...” into the performance audio and giving away these familiar Saigon street foods to some lucky audiences.

Whee!, a young band with 3 members including singer Du Quoc Vuong, guitarist Tran Bao Nguyen, keyboardist Lieng Hot Ha Thuy, also performed at the event. The group was previously known through the Rock Viet competition. In this event, the group brought to the audience nearly 20 songs from their previous albums.

Performance artist Felix Minh An Nguyen returned to Vietnam from Germany to participate in the event with a movement art performance. He loves the rebellious energy of street art, combined with movements inspired by the "king of pop" Michael Jackson, Bruce Lee.

The Saigon Urban Street Fest attendees are diverse, with no age limit. Making the most of the space of the Ho Chi Minh City Central Post Office to create a performance space for young domestic and foreign artists, the organizers aim to connect "borderless" and "colorless" cultures through the performance of liberal street art in the heart of an ancient yet modern Saigon.
