In recent years, Korea has not only become a favorite destination for young people who love Korean movies, K-pop or street food , but also a top choice for families and groups of close friends looking for unique cultural experiences and impressive landscapes. In particular, in 2025, the Korean government has made many positive changes in tourist visa policy, making it easier for Vietnamese citizens to apply for a visa to this country.

1. What is a Korean tourist visa? What types are there?

Korean visas are divided into two types: visas based on the purpose of entry and visas based on the number of entries. (Photo: Collected)

Korean tourist visas belong to the short-term visa group (symbol C-3) for those who need to travel, visit relatives or work for a short time. For Vietnamese people, the most popular visas today are single-entry visas - allowing a maximum stay of 30 days; and multiple-entry visas - with a duration of 1, 3 or 5 years, each entry also allows a stay of no more than 30 days. In 2025, the policy of reviewing multiple-entry Korean visas is being significantly relaxed for those with a good travel history or who have been to developed countries such as the US, Japan, Europe, Australia, etc. This opens up great opportunities for Vietnamese citizens to own long-term Korean visas with simpler procedures.

2. Update new points in Korean tourist visa application procedures 2025

Since January 2025, the Korean government has announced a number of important adjustments to the Korean visa application process, helping to simplify the application and speed up the processing time. Specifically, visa applicants are no longer required to submit original savings books or proof of assets as before. Instead, a bank account statement within the last 3 months is sufficient to prove financial resources. At the same time, documents such as household registration books, birth certificates, ID cards/CCCDs... if in Vietnamese do not need to be notarized, helping to save time and costs in preparing documents.
Another special feature is that the list of authorized travel agencies for fast-track applications (designated or registered) has been expanded in 2025, allowing those who go on tours or use travel agencies to significantly shorten their visa processing time – from 16 days to 10 working days before departure. This is extremely useful information for those who want to apply for a Korean tourist visa on their own or in a tour group.

Korea tourist paradise with countless surprises waiting for you. (Photo: Collected)

As of 2025, all Korean visa applications in Vietnam must be submitted through the Korean Visa Application Center (KVAC), instead of directly at the Embassy or Consulate as before. There are currently three main locations:

  • KVAC Hanoi: 12th Floor, Discovery Complex – 302 Cau Giay.
  • KVAC HCMC: 253 Dien Bien Phu, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3.
  • KVAC Da Nang: Lot A1-2, Chuong Duong Street, Ngu Hanh Son.

Depending on how you apply, processing times will vary:

  • Self-submission: approximately 16 business days.
  • Through the registration company: about 9 days.
  • Through designated company: only 7 working days (not including translation).

Note: You should make an appointment online before arriving and submit your application at least 4 weeks before your expected departure date to prevent any unexpected situations.

6. Latest Korean visa application fee in 2025

As of early 2025, the fee for applying for a Korean tourist visa is regulated as follows:

  • Single entry visa: 20 USD.
  • Multiple entry visa: 80 USD.
  • Additional KVAC fee: 390,000 VND/application (cash only).

If you use the services of a travel agency, there will be additional service fees of 1-2 million VND depending on the support package. This fee is reasonable if you need support in preparing documents, booking schedules, and ensuring a higher acceptance rate.
To increase your chances of success when applying for a visa, you should be absolutely honest in declaring information, submitting your application on time, and preparing your application as detailed as possible. In particular, travel history is a very important factor - if you have been to Japan, Europe, Australia, the US, or have an old Korean visa , the rate of being granted a multiple-entry visa will be significantly higher. In case of a visa refusal, you should wait at least 6 months and prepare your application carefully before reapplying.
Applying for a Korean tourist visa in 2025 has become much simpler and friendlier thanks to Korea's open-door policy as well as the reduction of cumbersome financial requirements. However, it is important that you understand the process, prepare your documents carefully and submit them at the right place and time. Whether you choose to travel independently or through a tour, make sure that all the information you declare is accurate and valid. With a little careful preparation, your dream of traveling to Korea will become easier and more complete than ever.
