Customers often rent a lot on days close to Tet because the demand for taking photos increases. To fit the budget of students, the rental price only ranges from 90,000-120,000 VND/set. This year, young people prefer loose-fitting ao dai, so the store imported a lot of these models”. In addition, the store also lends customers accessories (headbands, hairpins, fans, pearl bags, scarves, etc.) without charging extra fees.

Ao dai rental service becomes popular due to consumer demand

Instead of spending a lot of money on buying clothes, Ms. Ho Nhu Quynh (Ward 1, Tan An City) chooses to rent. "Every year I rent ao dai to wear during Tet, both to save money and to change my style every year. I usually spend 200,000-300,000 VND/year on this activity" - Ms. Quynh said.

According to Ms. Do Yen Nhi (a fashion store employee with branches in Vinh Long and Tra Vinh provinces), social networks play an important role in shaping current fashion trends.

“Clothing products often become “hot trends” on social networks first, and then thanks to this influence, many people learn about them and seek to buy them. The development of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok creates conditions for new designs to spread quickly, but also makes consumer trends more unpredictable,” said Nhi.
