On July 29, Ham Thuan Bac District Police said they had just coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of Binh Thuan Province Police to invite Le Ngoc Chau (40 years old, residing in Lac Dao Ward, Phan Thiet City) to work with him regarding the act of driving a motorbike with one hand and weaving on National Highway 1A.
Earlier on the morning of July 28, a 46-second clip was circulated on Facebook, recording a man driving a motorbike with license plate 86AL-025.xx, weaving and crossing into the car lane.
According to the clip, in addition to swerving, this person also continuously steered the vehicle with one hand, stretched his legs behind, and at times released both hands. This action was recorded by the owner of the car behind and shared on social media.
Upon learning of the incident, the Traffic Police Department of Binh Thuan Province conducted an investigation and determined that the location where the man was “performing” on a motorbike was the Phu Long bridge area, in Phu Long town.
By the afternoon of July 28, the authorities had invited the man in the clip, Le Ngoc Chau, to the headquarters for questioning.
At the police station, Chau admitted to driving a motorbike with one hand and weaving on Highway 1A as shown in the clip circulating on social media.
The case is being further investigated and handled by the authorities according to regulations.
