Recently, in some provinces, a strange type of candy has appeared, sold at school gates. After students ate it, they experienced symptoms of nausea, headaches, and difficulty breathing.

In Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Hanoi ... many students ate strange candy and then showed signs of poisoning.

After receiving the above information, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training continuously issued urgent warnings about the situation of some students in neighboring localities being poisoned after eating strange candy bought outside the school gate.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong requested the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns, units and schools to strengthen management and ensure food safety and hygiene in schools.

"Schools need to step up propaganda to all parents and students not to buy snacks of unknown origin. At the same time, disseminate information to parents to pay attention and strengthen management of their children's learning and living situation," Mr. Cuong emphasized in the warning.

Finalize high school graduation exam with 4 subjects from 2025, no mandatory foreign language exam

From 2025 onwards, candidates will take the high school graduation exam in 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects and 2 elective subjects.

According to the plan announced by the Ministry of Education and Training , candidates will take two compulsory subjects including Math and Literature and two elective subjects from foreign languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, economic education and law, information technology, and technology.

The Literature subject is tested in essay format, the remaining subjects are tested in multiple-choice format. The test content closely follows the new general education program.

The Ministry of Education and Training will organize the exam nationwide with the same questions, same exam sessions, and same time. The graduation recognition method will combine the assessment of the process and the graduation exam results in a proportion appropriate to the roadmap for implementing the 2018 general education program.

Regarding the roadmap from 2025 - 2030, the Ministry of Education and Training will maintain the paper-based testing method. After 2030, the pilot testing on computers will be gradually implemented for multiple-choice subjects in localities that meet the conditions (can combine paper-based and computer-based testing).

" When all localities nationwide have sufficient conditions, they will switch to computer-based high school graduation exams for all multiple-choice subjects ," the document stated.

8th grade boy was abused in private area by his friend

On the afternoon of November 28, a 16-second clip was posted online, recording the scene of 5 male students grabbing the arms and legs, continuously pressing the private parts of a classmate against the flagpole, despite the male student straining and screaming. Meanwhile, several other male students stood outside cheering, cheering, and filming the clip.

The clip was quickly shared widely on social networks, receiving thousands of shares and comments, many people expressed outrage at the behavior of the group of male students with their schoolmates.

Mr. Doan Vu Hai, Principal of Hoa Nam Secondary School - where the incident occurred, said that the clip was recorded by a student on November 8, then spread online. As soon as the information was received, the school held a meeting with relevant parties, took the male student whose private part was affected for examination, and coordinated with Hoa Nam Commune Police to investigate and handle the incident.

On November 25, Hoa Nam Secondary School established a disciplinary council for the offending students, deciding to suspend the ringleader for 2 weeks and suspend 5 students who participated and filmed the clip for 1 week.

The school invited the parents of the students involved to work and reconcile so that the students could realize their mistakes and seriously correct them. The principal himself also admitted to being negligent in managing the students and seriously asked to learn from his experience.

According to the reports of the students involved, this was just a playful act between students during recess, there was no personal conflict or intentional attempt to injure a friend.

On the afternoon of November 29, Mr. Ngo Tien Hoang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ung Hoa district (Hanoi), said that he had reported to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the city People's Committee office the incident of an 8th grade male student having his private parts pushed against a pole by a friend.

The District People's Committee also criticized the Head of the District Education and Training Department, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Nam Commune, and the Principal of Hoa Nam Secondary School for being slow in informing and reporting the above incident.
