Hail appears in Quang Nam after severe heat wave

After being affected by the harsh sunlight in recent days, on the evening of April 21, in Tam Ky City ( Quang Nam Province), hail suddenly appeared and lasted for several minutes.

At around 7pm the same day, Tam Ky City suddenly had a hailstorm after a thunderstorm. The hail lasted for a few minutes, had a diameter of 1-3cm and was recorded in many wards in the city.

Mr. Phan Minh Thong (residing in Tan Thanh ward, Tam Ky city) said that at the time, when he was in the house, he heard a loud thunder and then heard a loud noise continuously on the roof of his house. When he went to check, he discovered that there was hail. This was the first time he had seen hail in Tam Ky city.

Many locals also said that this was the first time they had seen hail in the area. The hail was very dense and heavy. Afterwards, there were many thunderstorms and heavy rains accompanied by whirlwinds.

According to records, in the past 3 days, Quang Nam province, especially Tam Ky city, has recorded severe heat. At its peak, many localities recorded the highest temperature of up to 38 degrees Celsius, with the temperature being higher than 35 degrees for 10-16 hours/day.
