Exporting 17 tons of Hoa Binh grapefruit to the EU market

On November 28, at V-Phuc Green Agriculture Cooperative, Ngu Phuc Commune, Kim Thanh District ( Hai Duong ), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with ECO Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company (direct exporter) and Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company (packaging unit) to organize the export ceremony of Hoa Binh grapefruit to the European market for the 2024-2025 crop year.

Representatives of specialized units under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and representatives of ECO Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company inspected the quality and packaging process of the products.

This year is the third year that Hoa Binh has exported grapefruit products. To prepare for the export season, from the beginning of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed the implementation of many solutions such as: Strengthening the issuance and management of growing area codes (there are 35 international standard grapefruit growing area codes); supporting Global GAP certification for over 150 hectares of grapefruit; unifying the grapefruit cultivation process according to export standards...

This batch of Hoa Binh grapefruit exported has a quantity of 17 tons, including green-skinned grapefruit and red grapefruit grown in Tan Lac district. Before being exported, grapefruit must go through many stages and inspections, meeting standards on appearance, Brix level, surpassing criteria on active ingredients, pesticide residues and other residues related to food safety.

According to comrade Nguyen Hong Yen, Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection, in addition to red grapefruit and Dien grapefruit, this year the exported variety of Hoa Binh grapefruit has added green-skin grapefruit. The export market this time is the EU countries. However, actual assessment shows that localities, cooperatives, and grapefruit growers need to pay special attention to product design. Because, the quality of Hoa Binh grapefruit is very delicious but the design in many places does not meet the requirements, especially with Tan Lac red grapefruit.
