Báo Đầu tưBáo Đầu tư16/06/2024

The export turnover of goods of the two localities contributing the largest export turnover, Hai Phong and Bac Giang, recorded high growth in the first 5 months of 2024, of which Hai Phong increased by 29.25% and Bac Giang increased by nearly 20% over the same period.

Export turnover of Hai Phong and Bac Giang increased
Export turnover of Hai Phong and Bac Giang increased by nearly 4.5 billion USD compared to the same period.

12.15 billion USD is the total export turnover of Hai Phong goods after the first 5 months of 2024. With this result, Hai Phong has become the locality contributing the 5th largest export turnover out of 63 provinces and cities of the country, only after Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong , Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen...

Compared to the same period last year, Hai Phong's export turnover increased by 29.25% (an increase of 2.75 billion USD).

Following Hai Phong, Bac Giang also had impressive export results, reaching 10.58 billion USD, an increase of 19.14% (equivalent to an additional turnover of 1.7 billion USD), ranking 6th in the country and completing 30.7% of the plan.

After 5 months, the export turnover of these 2 localities reached nearly 23 billion USD and ranked in the TOP 6 localities with export turnover of over tens of billions of USD.

The remaining 4 localities exporting tens of billions of USD include: Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Binh Duong and Thai Nguyen with the results of 17.53 billion USD; 14.37 billion USD; 13.41 billion USD; 13.15 billion USD respectively.

The clear recovery of exports from leading export localities has brought the country's export results in the first 5 months to more than 156 billion USD, an increase of 15% over the same period last year.

It is worth noting that the export growth momentum of Hai Phong and Bac Giang maintained its "form" in 2023, a difficult year due to the decline in global trade that directly impacted our country's exports, and many localities accordingly failed to achieve their export growth targets.

Data from the Vietnam Import-Export Report 2023 shows that Hai Phong's export turnover reached 26.79 billion USD, up 7.4%, Bac Giang 24.49 billion USD, up 8.3% compared to 2022.

It should be added that, among the 9 localities contributing export revenue from 10 - 42 billion USD in 2023, 7 localities recorded negative growth (Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai, Hanoi, Phu Tho), only 2 localities had positive growth: Hai Phong and Bac Giang.
