Bringing products closer to consumers
According to the Trade Promotion Center (Department of Industry and Trade), in 2024, the production and business situation of some industries and fields will still be difficult and slow to recover; climate change will increase, causing great impacts on production and people's lives... Therefore, promoting the consumption of goods to support businesses in trade promotion activities is very necessary. From there, it has created a trade bridge, supported businesses to develop the market, participated in stimulating demand, created favorable conditions for the province's typical quality goods to be consumed stably domestically and towards export.
According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tung - Director of the Trade Promotion Center, in 2024, the outstanding activity is the successful organization of the regional specialty fair in the Mekong Delta - Vinh Long in 2024. The fair attracted the participation of 116 units with 243 booths, contributing to connecting trade between enterprises and enterprises, enterprises and consumers, creating a bridge for supply and demand to meet, promoting trade promotion between enterprises of the province with enterprises of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and the whole country in general.
In addition, the center has also mobilized and supported businesses to participate in exhibitions in a number of provinces in the country; supported businesses to participate in displaying and introducing products on the occasion of the delegation of leaders and businesses from India and Japan visiting and working in Vinh Long province; displayed goods at the Vietnam-Switzerland Economic Forum 2024...
“After participating in fairs and exhibitions, many typical rural industrial products and OCOP-certified products of the province have become more widely known to consumers. This has created favorable conditions for units and businesses to meet and connect with distribution systems and consumers nationwide,” said Mr. Tung.
From a small production facility, up to now, the honey product under the brand name Anh Day has achieved the 3-star OCOP product certification. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Day - the owner of the facility, after participating in trade promotion activities, the product has been gradually "upgraded" in both quality and design to meet the increasing needs of customers. "There are many honey products on the market, in order for our products to be competitive, we must change and adjust to become better and better" - Ms. Day shared.
Further enhance promotional effectiveness
Digital transformation in trade promotion has become an inevitable trend for enterprises and production facilities. This is also a way to bring goods and agricultural products of enterprises and cooperatives closer to consumers. According to Mr. Dang Van Luong - Chairman of Vinh Long City People's Committee, the city currently has 51 products recognized as OCOP products of 22 entities.
Trade promotion work has been promoted, many typical products, OCOP products have entered the Co.opmart Supermarket system, Winmart, OCOP stores in and outside the province. "In addition, more than 90% of the products have been on reputable e-commerce platforms such as: Postmart, Shopee, e-commerce trading platform of the industry and trade sector, Vinh Long agricultural products trading platform and it is expected that in 2025, the city will promote digital transformation of OCOP products through the e-commerce trading platform of typical products of Vinh Long city" - Mr. Luong said.
According to Mr. Van Quoc Hoang - Director of Co.opmart Vinh Long Supermarket, in the coming time, it is necessary to further strengthen promotion activities, focusing on B2B promotion between manufacturing enterprises and distribution enterprises. This activity aims to help enterprises grasp the needs and cooperate for mutual benefit. Especially in the context of typical products, OCOP products of the province are increasingly achieving quality as at present.
“It is necessary to help units understand the importance of e-commerce in the current buying and selling market. At the same time, strengthen the connection between enterprises and business households in the province with companies, organizations, and business contacts both directly and online. Gradually build an information introduction page, upgrade the province's e-commerce platform to introduce typical rural industrial products, OCOP products to enhance the ability to connect with consumers. Support enterprises to put product information on the province's e-commerce platform, initially helping them get acquainted with the promotion method" - Mr. Tung added.
According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, in the coming time, the unit will develop a comprehensive 5-year trade promotion strategy plan. Clearly identify the goals, targets and key product groups of the province in the coming time that need to be promoted. From there, there is a basis to specify the work in each year, for each group of target industries and markets. In particular, develop e-commerce platforms to enhance market access for local products. Encourage businesses to create their own websites and use social networks to reach customers. Link information with the national trade promotion network. Apply information technology, digital transformation in accessing market information and advertising local products on many online platforms... |
