On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, this morning, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to organize the "3rd National Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy Scientific Conference" with the theme "Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy Combined with Modern Medicine and Pharmacy in the Treatment of Non-Communicable Diseases" and organized the "7th and 8th Hai Thuong Lan Ong Awards Ceremony for Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy". Comrade Do Xuan Tuyen, Permanent Deputy Minister of Health ; Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the Conference.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Mr. Le Ngoc Chau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, informed about some outstanding results in the socio -economic development of Ha Tinh in recent times. Regarding the event commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, up to this point, the preparation work has been carried out on schedule, ready for the event.

In the field of traditional medicine and the treatment of non-communicable diseases in Ha Tinh, many positive results have been achieved. He hopes that through this conference, the good values of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac will continue to be spread so that the medical sector can continue to do a better job of caring for and protecting people's health.

At the workshop, representatives of organizations, scientists, researchers, and managers nationwide in the field of traditional medicine presented a number of scientific papers such as: Evaluation of the effects of the Thanh Thuong Phong Phong thang prescription combined with Adapalene in the treatment of common acne; Evaluation of the effects of treating peripheral nerve complications caused by chemotherapy by electroacupuncture, acupressure massage combined with Cao Thong U; Traditional medicine soaking in the treatment of sleep disorders in cancer patients, etc.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Permanent Deputy Minister of Health, assessed that the workshop contributed to reaffirming the contributions and influence of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac on Vietnamese Medicine as well as in the world.
The research works and scientific arguments discussed and analyzed at the Workshop have further clarified the role, value and effectiveness of combining traditional medicine with modern medicine in the treatment of non-communicable diseases.
The Deputy Minister of Health suggested that after the workshop, scientists and managers continue to research and develop treatment methods combining traditional medicine with modern medicine. For the papers presented at the workshop, further comments from scientists will be collected for publication in the publications of the Ministry of Health.
In the coming time, it is recommended that the Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy Management and related units continue to collect, edit and publish the works of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac; promote research in the field of Traditional Medicine and register research topics to demonstrate the effectiveness of Traditional Medicine in treating modern diseases.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Health also awarded the "7th and 8th Hai Thuong Lan Ong Awards for Traditional Medicine" to individuals who have made positive contributions to the work of inheriting, preserving, developing traditional medicine, and combining traditional medicine with modern medicine./.
