Inauguration of VinFast Ha Tinh Electric Car Factory

On the morning of June 29, VinFast Production and Trading Company Limited (under Vingroup ) held the inauguration ceremony of VinFast Electric Car Manufacturing Factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Chi Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Hoang Trung Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine; Nguyen Thanh Binh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, along with leaders of central departments, ministries and branches; representatives of Vingroup.

On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were the following comrades: Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran The Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Trong Hai - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, former leaders of the province, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, localities...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup Corporation said: VinFast Electric Car Factory in Ha Tinh has a total area of over ^360,000m2 . This is the second electric car factory of VinFast to come into operation, and is also the 5th project in the factory system being deployed by VinFast globally.

With the construction and installation of the factory and machinery in less than 7 months, VinFast Ha Tinh is recognized as one of the fastest completed automobile factories in the world to date.

VinFast Ha Tinh is invested in modern production lines with a high level of automation, applying advanced technology from the world's leading partners. In the first phase, the factory has a designed capacity of about 200,000 vehicles/year. In the future, the factory will continue to expand to increase capacity to meet market demand.

To optimize the production line, in the first phase, VinFast Ha Tinh focuses on producing small urban electric vehicles such as VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van and some new models in the development roadmap. Products from VinFast Ha Tinh factory not only serve the domestic market but also aim for export.

The factory is expected to create about 6,000 jobs in the first phase and can expand its workforce to 15,000 people in the future, contributing to job creation and promoting social security in the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang affirmed: “The inauguration of VinFast Ha Tinh factory is an important milestone in VinFast's long-term development strategy and global production expansion. When put into operation, VinFast Ha Tinh factory will contribute to VinFast's goal of producing 1 million vehicles/year to meet the increasing demand of domestic and foreign markets. This is also a clear demonstration of VinFast's ability to master technology, self-production and pioneering vision in promoting sustainable transportation trends in Vietnam and around the world."

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai emphasized: After only nearly 7 months since the groundbreaking date, the largest automobile manufacturing project in the region has been completed. This is not only a miracle in terms of progress, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of "think big - act fast - act for real", demonstrating the high determination of Vingroup Corporation; the synchronous, timely and effective participation of departments, branches, and Ky Anh Town; the consensus and support of the people in the work of site clearance to implement the project.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed: "The inauguration ceremony of the Vinfast electric car factory has affirmed the strategic vision of Vingroup Corporation in developing the smart electric car brand in particular and the maturity of Vietnamese enterprises in general in the era of green industry and digital transformation.

For Ha Tinh, the operation of the VinFast electric car factory marks an important turning point in the process of realizing the orientation of green growth and sustainable development according to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The factory's operation makes an important contribution to the budget revenue, job creation and improvement of people's lives. At the same time, it creates new momentum for Ha Tinh to continue to rise, becoming one of the development poles of the North Central and Central Coast regions, joining the whole country in entering the era of modern, green, sustainable industry and deep international integration."

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his gratitude to Vingroup for its important contributions to the province's development, not only through large-scale projects, but also through many practical and humane social activities.
