This information was presented at the Conference summarizing the work of the health sector in 2025 and implementing tasks for 2026 of the Department of Health, held on the afternoon of January 22nd. Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan attended and delivered a speech.

In 2025, the health sector proactively implemented disease prevention and control measures, strengthened surveillance, and promptly handled outbreaks to prevent their spread. Most infectious diseases decreased; malaria continued to be controlled, with no new cases recorded. In the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and control, the number of new infections decreased; intervention and treatment efforts continued to be maintained.
Targets for immunization, reduction of malnutrition, and gender balance at birth were ensured; no maternal deaths were recorded. The expanded immunization program achieved many positive results, with 99.2% of children receiving full immunization, maintaining the achievements in polio eradication and neonatal tetanus elimination.
However, the rate of people participating in health insurance has not met the target.
Dr. To Minh Nghi, Director of Ca Mau General Hospital, presented a paper on the application of digital transformation in medical examination and treatment activities at the unit.
At the conference, delegates presented numerous papers, including those addressing the results of implementing advanced techniques to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people; the application of digital transformation in medical examination and treatment; the prevention and control of infectious diseases; and the advantages and difficulties in the process of transferring management authority to the commune-level People's Committee.
Comrade Nguyen Minh Luan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the conference.
Delivering a keynote address at the conference, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan commended and highly appreciated the achievements of the health sector.
Pointing out several limitations such as: some hospitals are still overloaded; the grassroots healthcare system is not operating effectively; facilities and equipment are limited; investment is small, implementation is slow, and efficiency is not high..., the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the health sector continue to streamline the system towards efficiency, in line with the two-tiered local government model; and link training and professional development with human resource planning.
In addition, strengthen the deployment of doctors to support grassroots healthcare facilities, and increase the rate of medical examinations and treatments covered by health insurance. Promote digital transformation and administrative reform; strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in management and supervision, and encourage the development of private healthcare. Further improve the quality of medical examinations and treatments to better care for the health of the people.
