Yamal unexpectedly lost the title of La Liga's best player

Despite being rumored to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or, Lamine Yamal was not awarded the title of La Liga's Best Player of the 2024-2025 season.

However, Yamal is not too sad because the person honored to receive this title is his close teammate - Raphinha.

On the evening of June 6 (Vietnam time), La Liga organizers officially announced Raphinha as the best player of La Liga in the 2024-2025 season.

The news comes shortly after it was announced that Hansi Flick was named Coach of the Season, while Yamal won the Under-23 Player of the Season award.

Raphinha has contributed a total of 18 goals and 9 assists for Barca this season.

In terms of goals, Lewandowski is the team's top scorer, with 27 shots on target in La Liga. But the Polish striker is given the right to take penalties, so it's understandable that he dominates this number.

Meanwhile, Yamal has 9 goals and 13 assists - leading the team in terms of assists.

Another statistic that shows the equal strength between Yamal and Raphinha is the number of chances created. Yamal is in the lead with 28, Raphinha is close behind with 26.

On the other hand, Yamal dominates in terms of successful dribbles per game, with 4.6. The corresponding figure for Raphinha is only 1.4.

It can be said that the parameters of these two superstar wingers are completely equal. Raphinha is better in terms of goals, but Yamal is the soul of the attack.

Yamal was awarded the U23 Player of the Year award, though, and perhaps that's why Raphinha gets a slight edge in the Best Player award.
