Yamal awarded lucrative contract

Sport reports that Yamal is close to signing a contract extension that will run until 2030. The agreement between Barcelona and Yamal's agent, super-agent Jorge Mendes, is 99% complete. The Catalan club are finalising the paperwork to announce the deal as soon as Yamal turns 18 this summer.

Yamal's current contract runs until the summer of 2026. According to Sport , Barcelona are ready to make Yamal one of the highest-paid under-18 talents in the world. Yamal's contract release clause has also been raised to €1 billion.

The 17-year-old striker is happy with life at Barcelona and wants to stay with the club long-term.

Yamal has broken a number of records in his time with Barcelona, reaching 100 official appearances in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan. This is an incredible milestone for a player who is not yet 18.

Yamal's remarkable growth over the past two years has forced Barcelona to quickly offer him a new contract. At the 2024 Ballon d'Or Gala, the Barcelona striker won the Kopa Trophy (Best Young Player of the Year).
