>> Yen Bai : Service revenue in the first quarter reached over 8,450 billion VND
According to the Yen Bai Provincial Statistics Office, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the area in April was estimated at VND2,811.6 billion, up 17.33% over the same period last year.
Accumulated in the first 4 months of 2025, this figure reached 11,256 billion VND, an increase of 20.23%. Of which, the retail goods industry continued to account for a large proportion, estimated at 2,257.1 billion VND in April, an increase of 13.54%. Most product groups increased, notably automobiles, means of transport, food, clothing and construction materials. Sales of automobiles and means of transport increased sharply thanks to incentive programs and consumer demand during the holidays. The petroleum group also grew due to increased essential needs. The accommodation, catering and tourism services sector achieved the highest growth, estimated at 308.2 billion VND in April, an increase of 41.36% over the same period.
This growth is thanks to careful preparation for the long April 30 - May 1 holiday, along with a series of rich cultural - sports - tourism activities, attracting a large number of tourists.
In April, Yen Bai is estimated to have welcomed 139,172 visitors, up 26.92%; the cumulative number in the first 4 months reached 545,331, up 30.23%. Other service sectors also recorded positive results, with total revenue in April reaching 246.3 billion VND, up 29.45%. Some sectors with outstanding growth include: real estate business, medical services, social assistance, arts and entertainment.
Notably, medical services increased due to the need for health care when the weather changed and vaccination programs received more attention. Transportation, warehousing, postal and delivery activities continued to grow. Revenue in April was estimated at VND 267,749 billion, up 33.43%; accumulated revenue in the first 4 months reached VND 1,057,652 billion, up 34.14% over the same period last year. Freight and passenger transport both increased, of which road transport accounted for a large proportion. Delivery services, especially domestic delivery and COD payment, also increased sharply.
The above figures reflect the positive recovery trend of the local economy, showing the effectiveness of solutions to stimulate consumption, develop the domestic market and prepare for major holidays. This is an important basis to create momentum for Yen Bai's economic growth in the following months.
