The Festival "Flying over the scenic spots - golden season 2024" will last from early September to the end of October 2024 - the time when Mu Cang Chai is in the ripe rice season, the most beautiful of the year.
As part of a series of activities to celebrate Independence Day, on September 1, at Lim Thai village, Cao Pha commune, Mu Cang Chai district ( Yen Bai ), Vien Nam Tourism and Sports Joint Stock Company (Mebayluon Paragliding) in collaboration with Hanoi Paragliding Association (HNAA) and Mu Cang Chai District People's Committee organized the Festival "Flying over scenic areas - golden season 2024."
Coming to the Paragliding Festival, visitors will be able to admire the unique paragliding performances of 20 paragliding pilots flying in coordination in the air, creating aerial shapes with artistic light smoke and hundreds of pilots (paragliding without engines) taking off from the top of Khau Pha pass, flying along Lim Mong valley.
Particularly impressive were the flag-raising performance to celebrate National Day September 2; the pilots' precise landing competition; and the high and far flying competition with scores based on the international scoring system.
In addition, visitors can not only admire unique paragliding performances but also experience the feeling of seeing the beautiful Lim Mong valley in the ripe rice season by flying in pairs with professional pilots who have the most flying hours in Vietnam, with both motorized and non-motorized paragliders.
The paragliding starting point is Khau Pha Pass - the highest peak in the "four great mountain passes" of the Northwest, located at an altitude of about 1,200m above sea level.
This year's event brings together many talented pilots with impressive performances that will certainly be a highlight in visitors' journey to Mu Cang Chai.

After many years of organization, this year's "Flying over the scenic spots - golden season" Festival continues to receive large-scale investment, expected to attract and welcome more than 2,000 visitors.
Previously, on the evening of August 31, Mu Cang Chai district also organized a mass art competition to celebrate Independence Day and cultural and sports activities to celebrate the Golden Season Festival and the first Mu Cang Chai Hawthorn Festival in 2024.
Ms. Luong Thi Xuyen, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district, said that Independence Day is not only an occasion to remember and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, but also a time for us to look back at the achievements we have made as well as look to the future with the determination to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
In recent years, Mu Cang Chai district has created a combined strength to create a breakthrough in socio- economic development. Infrastructure of "electricity, roads, schools, stations" has been invested in and built more and more spaciously, with convenient transportation in all four seasons.
Socio-economic development, material and spiritual life of people are improved. People actively respond to emulation movements to build new rural areas, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
The district's tourism has made a breakthrough development, aiming to build Mu Cang Chai district into a tourist district.
Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Luong Thi Xuyen added that, coming to Mu Cang Chai on this occasion, visitors will be immersed in the unique cultural space with a series of events organized such as the Mass Art Competition of unique art troupes; Bamboo and rattan weaving competition; competitions in ethnic sports, folk games (tug of war, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, top spinning, pao throwing, blindfolded drumming, stilt walking, sack jumping...); Highland market; Photo exhibition "Colors of Mu Cang Chai" and Paragliding Festival "Flying over the scenic area" golden season 2024.
The street performance program to open the Golden Season Festival and the first Son Tra Festival will take place on September 6 with the following activities: Mu Cang Chai tourism workshop - destination "Identity, safety, friendliness"; "Son Tra fragrance and color" contest, beeswax pattern making contest on fabric, ethnic sports competitions with the participation of localities such as Sa Pa town (Lao Cai province), Than Uyen district (Lai Chau province), Muong La and Bac Yen districts (Son La province), Yen Bai city, Van Chan and Tram Tau districts (Yen Bai province).
Along with that are a number of other supporting activities such as the New Rice Celebration of the Mong ethnic group; fast rice harvesting and good plowing competitions; goat fighting; art photo exhibition; product display and introduction booths; cultural and artistic activities every Saturday evening.
In particular, this occasion will take place the International Marathon with over 1,350 athletes participating in 4 distances (100km, 50km, 25km and 12km) along with tours to experience conquering natural landscapes, discovering the most surreal beauty of Vietnam; famous for its beautiful terraced fields through the skillful hands and creativity, diligence of farmers creating a vivid picture, changing over time, showing the harmony between humans and nature./.
