On April 19-20, about 1,700 ethnic people in Dien Bien province were examined and given free medicine by doctors. On the morning of April 20, doctors and nurses from the Military Institute of Radiation Medicine and Oncology (Military Medical Department) examined, provided health consultation and provided free medicine to 700 ethnic people in Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province.

Previously, on April 19, 300 elderly people in Him Lam ward, Dien Bien Phu city had their eyesight examined, intraocular pressure measured, refraction measured, fundus examined, optic nerve examined, and automatic visual field examined using advanced equipment and technical means by doctors of Saigon Eye Hospital. After the eye examination, the elderly were given free medicine and listened to medical staff 's orientation, propaganda, and dissemination of knowledge about eye care and protection; knowledge about physical exercise, health improvement, and disease prevention, especially for common diseases in the elderly.
In Muong Cha district, the staff and doctors of Bach Mai Hospital conducted health check-ups and provided free medicine to 700 disadvantaged people in the district. Participating in the program, people received general medical check-ups, diabetes tests, heart rate and blood pressure checks, electrocardiograms, ultrasounds, general internal examinations, health and nutrition consultations. People also received free medicine and health care gifts.
The program also organized free dental examinations for 800 students at Sa Long Primary School, Sa Long Secondary School and presented 15 gifts to poor families, each gift worth 2 million VND.
The program "Humanitarian Journey - Giving and Receiving Love" was organized in 3 provinces: Thai Nguyen, Son La and Dien Bien, integrating the implementation of medical examination, health consultation and free medicine provision at 15 examination points, for more than 9,000 people from poor, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in the localities. 12 units were mobilized to participate in medical examination, including: Hospitals under the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of National Defense, provinces, cities, Young Doctors Association, and Volunteer Clubs from all over the country.
