11 recommendations for responding to storm No. 3 and floods after the storm

The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) has just issued 11 recommendations to enhance response skills to storm No. 3 and post-storm floods, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

1. Closely monitor disaster forecasts and warnings from authorities.

2. Ensure the safety of boats at anchor, absolutely do not stay on the boat, watchtower, or raft when the storm hits.

3. Limit travel during the storm season, do not travel to dangerous areas, do not go out when the storm hits unless necessary.

4. Identify and prepare safe shelters, ready to evacuate when required.

5. Stock up on necessities, medicine, and drinking water.

6. Reinforce houses, trim trees, and remove objects that can be easily blown away by the wind.

7. Take care of agricultural production, reinforce barns, and harvest early.

8. Proactively prevent flash floods and landslides, especially in mountainous and low-lying areas.

9. Raise assets, move vehicles, and keep important documents.

10. Clear sewers and drains, do not park in areas prone to flooding.

11. Save emergency phone numbers to contact when needed.
