16 houses in Bau Ham commune had their roofs blown off, many banana trees were broken due to thunderstorms.

(DN) - On the morning of July 21, the People's Committee of Bau Ham commune said that the commune is continuing to count the damage caused by the thunderstorm that occurred at noon and afternoon of July 20.

Initially, local authorities determined that 15 houses had their roofs blown off, 1 temporary house completely collapsed, and about 2,500 banana trees (with an area of about 7 hectares) were broken even though they were about to be harvested.

Previously, from around 12:15 on July 20, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds occurred in Bau Ham commune, causing damage. Immediately after the disaster occurred, the People's Committee of Bau Ham commune directed specialized forces, coordinated with hamlet committees and local people to urgently inspect and review the scene to count and assess the extent of damage.

Local authorities also organized working groups to directly visit affected households, encourage them, and provide initial support to help people overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
