INFORMATION SECURITY DEPARTMENT
According to the Information Security Department, Yen Dinh District Police ( Thanh Hoa ) has just investigated and arrested a group of subjects specializing in fraud and property appropriation in the form of lottery numbers.
At the police station, the subjects Pham Quoc Khanh (22 years old), Vo Van Diep (31 years old), Vo Van Tan (31 years old), all residing in Huong Van Ward (Huong Tra Town, Thua Thien - Hue ), confessed that because they needed money for personal use, they went online to scam and appropriate property through the form of giving out lottery numbers.
The subjects created many fake Facebook accounts named "Hoang Manh Tuan", "Le Thi Kim Khoa", "Phan Gia Vu", "Le Thanh Hung"... posting articles impersonating employees and leaders of the Northern Lottery Company who have the ability to know in advance and intervene in lottery results, so they can give 100% accurate lottery numbers.
The seized exhibits included 4 computers, 14 mobile phones, 3 color printers, 30 SIM cards and SIM blanks, 15 bank accounts of various types, 30 fake name tags of employees and leaders of the lottery company, 50 numbering records, 2 seals and many other related exhibits.
Through initial verification, the subjects committed fraud against hundreds of victims nationwide, with an estimated initial illegal profit of over 5 billion VND.
The Information Security Department recommends that people be vigilant against services floating on social networks. Absolutely do not use any form of service without verifying the identity and reputation of that person or organization. Do not rush to follow the subject's instructions; do not provide personal information or bank account information in any form.
When detecting cases with signs of fraud as above, people need to immediately report to the nearest police agency.
Invite to invest in international stocks, beware of being scammed
According to the Department of Information Security, there are currently cases of people being scammed by criminals into investing in international securities, virtual currency, and digital currency.
Through the organization of conferences, seminars... the subjects integrate advertising about international securities, virtual currency, digital currency. Profit levels that are superior to the market and easy withdrawal of capital and interest are the factors that the subjects put forward to attract people and investors.
Notably, these entities often require people and investors to transfer money before starting a transaction; usually in the form of registration fees, participation fees or deposits. However, these entities do not provide complete information about the company, operating license, tax code, transaction history, management personnel, and are not controlled by state agencies.
When seeing that people and investors are no longer able to transfer money, the subjects will disable the account, block communication to appropriate the money that the victim has transferred...
The Information Security Department recommends that people should be cautious when being introduced to international securities, virtual currencies, and digital currencies; especially when they do not have knowledge in the financial and securities fields. They should carefully refer to feedback and reviews from previous users about their experiences with the trading floors, financial and securities companies that they are interested in investing in.
In addition, people and investors should seek advice from experts and lawyers before investing to avoid losing money from fraudulent investment platforms and companies. People should not participate in events, conferences, and seminars calling for investment related to finance, securities, virtual currency, and digital currency.
When discovering events related to finance, securities, virtual currency, digital currency taking place in the area, people should immediately inform the nearest police agency.
