(Dan Tri) - Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hoa, homeroom teacher of class 9C1 at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, shared information that 32/32 students of the class passed the 10th grade entrance exam at Foreign Language Specialized High School, which is spreading on social networks.
The homeroom teacher of class 9C1 at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School shared with Dan Tri reporters about the false information on social networks. Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hoa said that the class has only 31 students, of which 1 student is studying abroad and therefore did not take the 10th grade entrance exam in Vietnam. "Therefore, the number 32 is completely incorrect," Ms. Hoa affirmed. The number of students in class 9C1 who passed the 10th grade of the Foreign Language Specialized High School is 28/30. However, Ms. Hoa said she did not want to make this number public because 2 students are still waiting for the results of the specialized exam from the Department. "Sharing information is the right of each family. From the perspective of a teacher, I would like to not share to ensure the interests of the children. Sometimes joy also needs privacy to be most complete. I still believe that the children will achieve good results when the Department announces the results of the specialized exam soon," Ms. Hoa expressed. In addition to the "phenomenal" achievement in the entrance exam for specialized grade 10, class 9C1 of Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hoa also had a bumper crop in the city's excellent student exam for the 2022-2023 school year with 2 first prizes in English, 4 second prizes in English, and 1 third prize in Biology. The two students who won first prizes, Do Bich Ngoc and Tran Thuy Anh, were directly admitted to the University of Education High School for the Gifted. In addition, Do Bich Ngoc also passed the Biology major at the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences . She is also one of 28 students who passed the English major at the Foreign Language High School. As the homeroom teacher, Ms. Hoa welcomed the students born in 2008 into class C1 at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School from grade 6, accompanying them for the past 4 years. Ms. Hoa frankly said that this batch of students is not as excellent as the previous batches that she was in charge of in terms of qualities or achievements. However, this is the batch of students that makes her most proud. "When I welcomed my children into grade 6, they were not outstanding. But over the past 4 years, including more than 2 years of interrupted learning due to the pandemic, they have not stopped trying. Every Saturday morning, I go to school to sit with them. Sometimes I told them that it would be better to stop going to school on Saturday mornings, but they said, "You come with us, just seeing you makes us want to study." Just like that, each child has a table, and if they have any difficulties, they ask the teacher on the spot. Compared to students who are studying for specialized exams at many schools, my class has much less extra classes, especially in English. The children mainly study by themselves. If they have the motivation, goals and methods to study by themselves, they will definitely reap results. During the holidays in their final year, the children also limit going out, prioritize studying to race against time. When the school is closed for holidays, the children come to the teacher's house to study from 8am to 8pm. In the previous classes I was in charge of, the results "Most of the children's achievements come from their excellent qualities. As for this course, the sweet fruit they receive is thanks to hard work, thanks to the days of hard study, but they are happy because it is their own need," Ms. Hoa said emotionally. In order to get good scores in both math and literature, the children have to cooperate and try very hard, nothing is easy. In the 2022-2023 school year, Ms. Hoa gave birth. Only 8 weeks after giving birth, she returned to class without daring to take more time off for fear of interrupting her children's final review. She said that not only the students of 9C1 but also the parents of the class moved her with their solidarity, unanimity, and working together with the teacher and the school for a common goal. On July 4, when the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the exam scores and benchmark scores of the schools, Ms. Tran Thi Hong Hoa would have the final results of the class's achievements. The homeroom teacher of class 9C1 shared that no matter what the results were, she still wanted to tell her students: "I am very proud of you." Foreign Language High School is one of three specialized high schools under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The school's 10th grade entrance exam is considered one of the most rigorous exams. This year, the school recruited 400 specialized students from more than 3,800 registered candidates. There were 2,088 candidates registered for the English major exam. The quota for the English major is 215, with a competition ratio of 1/9.7. Foreign Language High School just announced the benchmark scores on the evening of June 15, with most majors having a lower admission score compared to 2022.
