Ms. Hoang Yen (33 years old, Hanoi ), a modern housewife, who is both busy with housework and affiliate marketing on TikTok, still finds the secret to keeping her home clean and tidy without having to exhaust herself.
Notably, in addition to familiar household appliances such as washing machines, microwaves, induction cookers..., according to Ms. Yen, there are 3 technological items that are still considered "extra" by many people but are effectively assisting this small family with housework: Robot vacuum cleaner, clothes dryer, dishwasher.
Robot vacuum cleaner
"Five years ago, when Hanoi was warning of severe air pollution, I decided to buy an air purifier. To combine cleaning dust, I also bought a robot vacuum cleaner," Yen shared.
The robot vacuum cleaner was bought by Ms. Yen 5 years ago.
From a seemingly luxurious device, the robot vacuum cleaner quickly became an indispensable "helper" in Ms. Yen's family.
Ms. Yen's vacuum robot cost about 11 million VND at the time of purchase. This is a robot with a sweeping brush and combined floor cleaning ability. However, because at that time, robots did not have modern cleaning technologies like today such as: rotating cleaning, vibrating cleaning, so Ms. Yen rated the floor cleaning function as only "acceptable".
Meanwhile, the dust suction ability is a bright spot.
"The best feeling is that my feet don't feel gritty when walking. Before using a robot vacuum cleaner, I often swept and mopped the floor, but I still felt gritty when walking on the floor," Yen shared.
The robot is equipped with a Lidar sensor, which helps measure the distance from the starting position to the target with a laser, optimizing mobility and avoiding obstacles.
"At first, I only learned about air purifiers, but the recommendation of a friend who was actually using a robot vacuum cleaner changed my mind. Previously, I did not appreciate the effectiveness of this device," said Ms. Yen.
Robot vacuum cleaners can completely replace sweeping the house, Ms. Yen only has to mop the house once a week.
Before, she spent about 10 minutes sweeping and 10 minutes mopping every day. After having a robot vacuum cleaner, the woman stopped sweeping except in special cases or when there was large debris. She only had to mop once a week.
She said that during the entire time of use, she only had to replace the brush. The fact that the components are sold separately is also a plus, helping her easily maintain and prolong the life of the device.
The robot is placed under the sofa without taking up space in the house. Every morning when she wakes up, Ms. Yen only needs a few simple operations on her phone to control the robot to start cleaning.
While Ms. Yen prepared breakfast for the family or took the opportunity to film TikTok videos , this little "friend" quietly crept around the 64m2 apartment, vacuuming up all the dust. After 45 minutes, the floor was spotless.
Clothes dryer
Three months ago, when moving to a new apartment, Ms. Yen decided to invest in two household appliances: a dishwasher and a clothes dryer.
Ms. Yen considers a clothes dryer to be one of the must-have appliances.
The dryer, with an initial investment of about 7 million VND, quickly became a "treasure" of the family, especially in caring for children's clothes. This is a dryer with condensing technology, the cost will be lower than heat pump technology.
Although it is not a modern drying technology, according to Ms. Yen, the machine is enough for the family's needs. The machine is not too picky about fabric. After drying, the clothes are not too wrinkled as many people worry.
In the past, on humid days, clothes took forever to dry and sometimes had an unpleasant smell.
Clothes after drying are not too wrinkled and can be put right in the closet.
Ms. Yen usually has to spend about 100,000-150,000 VND each time she goes to the laundry shop. In addition to wasting time and money, she also worries about hygiene issues. Now, with a dryer at home, she is completely assured of the cleanliness and safety of her family's clothes.
On average, Ms. Yen washes and dries a load of clothes every day, equivalent to 7kg. Drying time ranges from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the drying mode and the material of the clothes. The clothes are hot and dry after drying.
"It turns out that I save about 30 hours a month compared to traditional drying, not to mention the cost of outside laundry and drying, about 300,000 - 450,000 VND/month and the effort of traveling if the weather is humid," Ms. Yen calculated.
Another benefit of using a dryer, which Ms. Yen only learned about after the first use, is that it filters fabric dust.
"After the first batch of clothes was dried, I checked the fabric dust tray and was surprised at the amount of fabric dust retained. Indeed, since drying clothes with the machine, the feeling of itching when wearing them has been significantly reduced. This is also a feature that I believe families with small children should consider," said Ms. Yen.
Dishwasher
The dishwasher, though newly purchased, quickly became a powerful assistant in Ms. Yen's kitchen, helping to "liberate" her hands and bring precious moments of family reunion.
"My husband has a very busy job. Before, no matter how tired he was, he still had to help me wash the dishes. Since having a dishwasher, he has more time to rest, relax, and play with the children. The family is much warmer," Yen shared.
When asked about the opinion that using a dishwasher still requires the step of removing leftover food and rinsing dishes, Ms. Yen affirmed that removing leftover food is a step that must also be done when washing dishes by hand.
Besides, only when the bowls and chopsticks have large, firmly stuck food crumbs do they need to be rinsed and this step only takes 2-3 minutes.
Besides the controversial issue of saving time, according to Ms. Yen, one of the most valuable points of a dishwasher is its cleanliness.
"Dishes and chopsticks are washed with hot water, not only to remove stains but also to ensure that cleaning chemicals are washed away. In addition, after washing, the dishes are dried, limiting mold, especially during the wet season," the housewife analyzed.

With a capacity of 16 sets, Ms. Yen's machine can wash dishes for 2 meals a day.
"The lunch dishes are put in the machine first, I wait until dinner is over and then press the wash button," said Ms. Yen.
Besides the "assistants" to reduce the burden of housework, according to Ms. Yen, there are two other technological items that are worth buying given the climate conditions in Hanoi, especially for families with small children. They are a dehumidifier and an air purifier.

"My house is in an apartment, but on humid days it is still damp and has an unpleasant smell. Since using a dehumidifier, the house is always dry, airy, and free of musty odors. What's even better is that my children rarely suffer from atopic dermatitis and respiratory diseases," Yen happily said.
For her, choosing a 22l dehumidifier with wheels that can move flexibly between rooms is an optimal solution for her 64m2 apartment. She often uses the dehumidifier in her child's bedroom at night and moves it to the living room during the day, ensuring the air in the house is always dry.
Dehumidifiers can be flexibly moved to different spaces according to usage needs.
Thanks to these technological devices, Ms. Yen has more time for herself, her family and her work. "Before, I used to have a hard time with housework. But now most of the housework is taken care of by smart devices, I have more time to rest and spend with my children," she said with a smile.
